CAE Standing Committees are organized by subject area. These committees work within CAE and with other AAA sections to advance research and practice in their content areas, and one key way they do this is by sponsoring session proposals (panels) for the next AAA Annual Meeting. Each committee meets at a small group meeting during the CAE “All Committees” Meeting held at the AAA Annual Meeting to conceptually plan for the next year by brainstorming possible ideas. This is a good time for new members to join a committee, meet other scholars with similar research or teaching interests, learn how anthropology and education intersect—and most importantly, find support for their own paper and become a part of a session proposal.
This online form will help us to form a smaller listserv for each committee, help you connect with other CAE members who share your research interests, and in this way further aid the process of turning ideas into session proposals for the next annual meeting. It should be noted that CAE members can and often do join more than one Standing Committee. Thank you for taking the time to answer this brief questionnaire!
Remember: The Proposal Deadline for volunteered sessions, individual paper and poster presentations, inno-vents, media submissions and special events is APRIL 15, 2011.
