First Night 2015 Volunteer Application Form


First Night® 2015 takes place on Wednesday, December 31, 2014.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

USHERS:
Under the supervision of managers, ushers assist with checking buttons (tickets), monitoring crowds, providing information, guidance, and support to First Night audiences. Most volunteer shifts are five (5) hours long. Shift start and end times vary, depending on the venue.

PROCESSION MARSHALS:
Assist First Night staff with staging the First Night Grand Procession. Volunteers must be available on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 3 PM until 7:30 PM.

PUPPET CAPTAINS:
Work with the Back Alley Puppet Theater to organize and facilitate public participation in the Grand Procession (involves carrying giant puppets a little more than 1 mile). Volunteers must be available from 3:30 PM until 7:30 PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Puppet Captains are also required to attend a training session on Monday, December 29, 2014. This is a really fun session where puppet captains have an opportunity to preview the First Night Grand Procession puppets, meet the Back Alley Puppet Theater Artists, and sharpen your puppet carrying skills--there are proven carrying techniques that really work!

FACE PAINTERS:
Transform children and adult faces with cool designs at the family festival. Two shifts are available on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Hynes Convention Center:  11:30 AM - 4 PM or 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM.

VOLUNTEER TOGETHER: Please indicate whether there are other people or groups you would like to volunteer with at First Night 2015. We try honor requests, but we cannot make guarantees.

First Night Volunteers will receive a First Night 2015 Button and a First Night T-Shirt.
