Exploring Histograms:
One of the hardest parts of making a histogram is deciding which bin width is best.  You will be going to a website with a histogram concerning the length of the eruption times for Old Faithful.  Below the graph is a slider that lets you change the width of the bars.  Read the questions below, then go to the website to explore, then come back to answer the questions.

Copy and paste this address into a new tab:  http://www.stat.sc.edu/~west/javahtml/Histogram.html
Move the slider all the way to the left (close to 0).  What do you notice about the bar widths?  Is this graph visually appealing?  Why or why not? *
Move the slider all the way to the right (close to 2).  What do you notice about the bar widths?  Is this graph visually appealing?  Why or why not? *
Move the slider to a place where you feel the graph is visually appealing.  How many bars did your ideal graph have? *
