Japanese Speech Contest
The sister city organization is pleased to announce its first Japanese speech and recitation contest for high school students in San Jose area.
We are promoting this event in order to send messages to Japan for the recent earthquake and tsunami victims and to encourage more students to participate in community events that would strengthen our sister city relations.
Date: April 1 (Sun), 2012
Time: 1:30 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Place: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library
150 E. San Fernando St., San Jose, CA 95112
Topic: Hope for Japan / Message to Japan
Notes:
*Speech must be 2-3 minutes in length
* If you are participating in the recitation contest, recitation material will be sent to you by email.
* As a Contestant, you may participate in both recitation and speech contests.
Qualifications:
The content is open to students who live or attend high schools in San Jose area.
It is limited to those have not lived in Japan and to those who have lived in Japan for NO MORE THAN two consecutive years.
Competition Levels:
Elementary : less than 2 years of Japanese language learning
Intermediate: 2-3 years of Japanese language learning
Advanced : 4 or more years of Japanese language learning
Fees:
Application fee: $10.00
($15.00 if participating in both speech and recitation)
