Important note

I have now taken a snapshot of the responses provided to this survey. This snapshot of responses are what I will use for analysis within my Open University course. However the survey is being left open for people to still provide responses, any future responses may be analysed in a similar way to that performed for my Open University course to provide useful recommendations on how the disabled shooting project may assist clubs in becoming more disabled friendly.

About this survey

This survey is being done as part of my (Michael Whapples) post graduate study with the Open University. The aim of this project is to explore issues surrounding how disabled friendly shooting clubs are and then seek to find solutions to the problems and make recommendations to the Disabled Shooting Project on how they can support shooting clubs in becoming more disabled friendly. More information on the Disabled Shooting Project can be found at
www.disabledshooting.org.uk.

While this survey will use the term “disabled”, it should be noted that the Disabled Shooting Project has a wider definition than normally used which covers everyone who is less able and thus cannot shoot in the standard way. This wider definition is the one which will be used throughout this survey unless there is anything to indicate otherwise in the question.

This survey has been designed to be short and so possible to complete in a short amount of time. Thank you in advance for your time in answering this survey.

How the data will be used?

The data here will be used to help analyse the current situation regarding how disabled friendly shooting clubs are and thus may be included in the final report submitted to the Open University. Also the Disabled Shooting Project will be provided with information related to the findings of the analysis. Where ever possible in published work data will be anonymised. An example is that it may be desirable to identify responses from people discussing the same shooting club, while the name of the shooting club is asked in this survey, the clubs will be assigned numbers and only the assigned numbers will appear in published work.

The final section requests contact information, this section is optional although it would be desired if you could complete this as it would mean you could be contacted for further information on your answers or to seek your permission for the raw data to be used in other ways, such as further analysis by the Disabled Shooting Project. In the event you do not provide contact information or it is not possible to obtain your permission to use your answers in other ways then it will only be used as described above.
