Tinkering School Chicago 2013
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Thanks for your interest in having your child attend Tinkering School Chicago.
We have learned over the years that having the right group of Tinkerers is critical to creating a great experience. We look for the right mixture of age, gender, skills, and interest in tinkering, and try to be as equitable as we can. Please give some time to the questions: this is the only information we have to make our decisions. There are only 10 spaces for each age group, so unfortunately, we can not accommodate every child who applies.
If you have multiple children interested in attending, a separate form must be submitted for each child.
Notes:
* Camp is for tinkerers 8-17 years old.
- Camp will take place July 15-20
* Camp will take place in Coffeen, Il (70 Miles North East of St. Louis)
* Deadline: Completed forms must be submitted by March 1, 2013.
* The one week sessions are $1200 per child (some financial assistance is available).
* Deposit of $400 is required upon acceptance into the session
* We expect a high level of responsibility from the Tinkerers: they must be able to listen, to keep themselves clean, to cooperate, and to ask for help when they need it.
During sessions we operate by a set of rules. The first four are evolved from our collective experience during the history of the school. Over the course of a session, it is common for the Tinkerers to create new rules for themselves as the need arises.
Rules Of Tinkering School:
#1 Don't hurt yourself, or anyone else.
#2 If you see a piece of fruit, and you want it, you must eat it.
#3 If two people want the same item, the dispute is resolved by ro-sham-bo.
#4 If you willfully hit someone else with the intent to hurt them, you will be expelled.
Thank you very much for your application. We appreciate the widespread interest in and support of our program.
