| Date | Hours | What I Did | Total Hours |
| 4-8/13 | 2 Hours | I designed some basic layouts to be used in future yearbook designs. Some design aspects are going through while others I saw did not fit well with other design elements that seemed more aesthetically pleasing than others | 2 Hours |
| 4-8/13 | 3 Hours | I started looking at different forms of type that would fit well for the type of feel we were going for. After playing around with several fonts, I decided on two fonts while my colleagues chose their own fonts. In the end, we stuck with one font from each of our designs and incorporated them into a modern font package. Several of the layouts changed dramatically as well. | 5 Hours |
| 5-8/13 | 3 Hours | After coming up with a font package and some design elements, it was time to move on to designing a logo. What would describe the feel we were going for? We met with a professional graphic designer and threw out some ideas and went through some color palettes before finally sticking with what is seen as the new Globe profile picture. After, we recreated the cover on a true template and fixed up some design aspects to fit in with the theme in the cover. | 8 Hours |
| 6-8/13 | 2 Hours | For the final day, we met and finalized all of our design elements and completed several spreads, I myself completed 5 of our final 11 spreads. The theme packet was completed and all the designing needed to be completed was done. We went through about 5 iterations of some spreads before we finally agreed on what we stumbled upon, an example of how tedious graphic design is. | 10 Hours |
| 30-8/13 | 2 Hours | After having an idea of what we wanted for our yearbook design, one of my mentors, Mimi Orth came by and helped us in finalizing many of our ideas and changing a few of them to better them in the theme that we are going for. One thing that we will be overhauling for sure are the division pages. Our endsheets will change as well, but then again, it's not like we even had a design in mind for them at the moment anyways. | 12 Hours |
| 10-9/13 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi Orth came over again and helped us with our spread design. I showed her my final spread design which she was impressed with and thought was a major improvement from what we started off with. The other designers showed her their respective spreads to which she thought our progress was amazing and that our designs complimented each others'. | 13 Hours 30 Minutes |
| 24-9/13 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came and looked at our endsheets that I designed with the help fo Krystal and Stacy. She said that she liked what we were going for, but told us how we could improve the it. After looking at a few other schools and comparing the designs, we came up with the design we wanted. We also showed her the progress on our first division pages. She thought the content we went for in the spread was new and that it would make for interesting divisions. | 15 Hours |
| 8-10/13 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came by and we showed her some of our finished pages. She critiqued them and told us some of the things that we could fix. Her assistant also helped us with our coverage ideas. | 16 Hours 30 Minutes |
| 22-10/13 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came in and it was a few days after the Design Clinic. I was unable to attend and when I returned she told me that several of our previous designs had been radically changed. As it turns out, several of our spreads had to be fied to be updated with the new theme redesigns. I don't like all of them, but even as a design editor, I must listen to the majority. | 18 Hours |
| 22-10/13 | 1 Hour | I sent Ron Martinez my Xbox Poster form my independent component. He critiqued it, saying he liked it, but that there was one major flaw, the colours didn't match. He said that he did not like the way I used green for my controller buttons and that I had quite a bit of detail. He told me that I should change the colour to something that matches grey and that I should get rid of some detail. In response, i deleted a lot of detail, including the letters for the buttons, and changed the final colour to blue. I liked the way it looks now and appreciate the critique and assistance he have me. | 19 Hours |
| 19-11/13 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came by after being unable to arrive last week. She went over our proofs and our spreads and several of them had some problems with their consistency, something that I thought would have been fixed when I made a template and a design style sheet. Turns out, that didn't work. Now, I have to go over all of the spreads and make sure that consistncy is there. Awesome... | 20 Hours 30 Minutes |
| 3-12/13 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came over and helped us make our underclassmen mug pages. Juniors, Sophomore & Freshmen mugs done in an hour and a half? A world record. | 22 Hours |
| 17-12/13 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came over and looked at our proof pages that we had left. She worked out some kinks left in some of my apprentice Cesar's spreads and helped add some finishing touches to our Best & Most page. | 23 Hours 30 Minutes |
| 14-1/14 | 2 Hours 30 Minutes | Mimi came over. Mimi stayed for awhile after | 26 Hours |
| 28-1/14 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came and helped us work on our communication with each other. Especially with the designers. She said that no designer could have become successful if they had not been able to communicate with the team they were working with. A good lesson, if Iw as ever to become a designer in the future. | 27 Hours 30 Minutes |
| 11-2/14 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came over and we showed her some of our redesigned files, but she said that there were still a lot of errors. Thankfully my three spreads weren't bad, but some of our other spreads, particularly one of our ad pages, was completely thrown out the window as a possibility. | 29 Hours |
| 25-2/14 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came and told us that we had done a good job. She liked all of our spreads and said that we had been working very hard and congratulated us on our improvement. She also said that proofs would start coming in, so that should be fun to work on. | 30 Hours 30 Minutes |
| 4-3/14 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes | Mimi came by and helped us with 3rd deadline stuff. Fixing some design flaws, captions and even coming up with several much better headlines. | 32 Hours |
| 7-3/14 | 2 Hours | Mimi invited us to a lesson where he would teach the future editors design. Since we also wanted to fix our own yearbook a bit more still, I attended the event and refreshed my knowledge on design techniques. | 34 Hours |
| 18-3/14 | 3 Hours | Mimi helped us finish up 3rd deadline and helped us with some 4th deadline stuff, mostly the planning of the last couple of weeks and how we could turn in some of our spreads without being late on them. (AKA Powderpuff & Sadies) | 37 Hours |
| 21-3/14 | 2 Hours | Mimi came by and showed us some examples of yearbooks similar to how ours was turning out. She said we should take inspiration from them, which we did, and also make sure to keep things consistent, somethint the book we looked at failed to do. | 39 Hours |
| 1-4/14 | 3 Hours | Mimi came by to give us proofs for 3rd deadline, the final proofs for that. After helping us fix those up, she helped us fix some large problems with our 4th deadline. | 42 Hours |
| 4-4/14 | 3 Hours | Mimi came by and stayed for a longer time than usual. She helped us with our 4th deadline in making sure that things wre organized and designed well. We were falling behind, so she got on top of us and gave us feedback as we were designing the spreads. It was a unique and intersting experience. | 45 Hours |
| 8-4/14 | 3 Hours | Mimi helped us as we rushed to turn in our final deadline. With the final day to turn everything in fast approaching, We had to stay late to make sure everything was perfect.. enough. | 48 Hours |
| 11-4/14 | 2 Hours | The deadline passed, yet we still had a couple pages out. I came in after school while Mimi was there helping me finish up the remaining spreads that others slacked on. After completing that, we turned the pages in and finished everything a little late, but completed nonetheless. | 50 Hours |
| 13-4/14 | 5 Hours 30 Minutes | Mentorship: Palettes with Ron Martinez for my Independent Component 2. We picked 5 different palettes after long hours of work. He helped me come up with some bases that I could use for my postcards. He did a quick one as an example | 55 Hours 30 Minutes |
| 17-4/14 | 4 Hours | I worked with Ron on some of his designs. I gave my input, he changed some things, and he gave me input on my designs for Independent Component 2. I fixed it up and changed a lot of things about the first few things I made. | 59 Hours 30 Minutes |
| 18-4/14 | 4 Hours | Ron gave me creative freedom to work on one of his projects. He already had it done, but he told me that it was going to be my first real assignment. I was going to be tested on what he had taught me and he said that if he liked it enough, he would use my design over his. | 63 Hours 30 Minutes |
| 20-4/14 | 1 Hour | Ron said he liked my design but that there were some issues. He pointed them out to me, but also added some things I did to his own design and turned his modified design in s the official one. | 64 Hours 30 Minutes |
