IntroductionIntroduce myself and my topic, the bare minimum of what Foley is, and tell them what my answer is.
9
Verification (Steps to check for student understanding)• Beginning of Presentation: Ask what they know about sound in movies, what movies they like the sound in, and why. Talk about the movie "No Country for Old Men."
• End: Performing in an activity using sound effects and seeing if they have ideas as to how they could be made.
10
Body (Give and/or demonstrate necessary information)Break down what you plan on talking about into manageable sections.

• Literal: Discuss the concepts behind Foley, a short history of it, and who a few innovators are. (Jack Foley, Ben Burtt, etc.)
• Interpretive: What I do for my independent component, what I work on individually, where my research is taking me.
• Applied: My end goal is to give myself a new understanding of how the subtleties of sound works, as well as to gain experience in case this becomes my career in the future.
11
VisualsCreating a powerpoint that will include audio and video in addition to engaging pictorial aids. This will also have a small list of what I am going to do as well as display my EQ.
12
Activity (Describe the independent activity to reinforce this lesson)• What is the activity: My activity is going to be a task in identifying the creative process of Foley artists.
• How it will be done: I will play a sound effect from a famous/popular movie, then ask for some way an audience could think of making the noise. I will either list a few options, or will leave it up to their imaginations.
• What materials will be used: It will not require materials beyond speakers.
