11/5/2012 13:19:45This was my first yearIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right.I have two favourites:

1. Paul's session. Well presented, lots of interesting resources shared. Very current material.

2. The session on identify. Very thought-provoking.
Some of the sessions were more interactive than others. The more interaction we can have, the better. The food could have used some help.I really liked it. Central location, open space. I'm not normally one to complain about food (a pet peeve of mine in learner feedback, to be honest) but the food was pretty horrible. While there was a range of choices, the food didn't seem overly fresh. I love the low cost of these workshops and consider them a real find! A great service to the learning community.

11/5/2012 13:22:075+ yearsIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right.I liked the session on interface design (first session of the day) because I learned a lot from it. I also like the session on 3D panoramas (since I was one of the presenters I have to say that :-).The mooc panel was fun and informative.Yummy!, The food could have used some help.It was great - I like the one-room format for the smaller fall workshops.Could have used some fresh fruit in the morning. I'm not much of a pastry guy.No specific ideas, although I'm always interested in seeing what technology other schools are experimenting with. I'm happy to lend a hand with anything: bbyrne@tru.caWow, was that room ever hot! It was nice to have our own room (more or less).

11/5/2012 13:25:335+ yearsIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right.the one with Brian Lamb in the afternoon. I'm really interested to hear about what's happening with open approaches to educationnice variety in the topics this year
we need lots of direction when we are assigned to 'discuss' something
the panel in the afternoon was interesting
networking opportunities are always great
i miss the institutional updates!

11/5/2012 13:42:51This was my first yearIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right."Mobile Learning, An Evolving User Experience Perspective" from Paul Hibbitts had some very interesting information on student interactions with mobile devices and learning, in addition to providing some interesting resources to explore after the session.Overall the sessions were very interesting, although specific sessions on LMS systems were not needed for us since we already have a system we are working with. The use of the Etherpad was new to me and I liked being able to see what others thought was important in addition to my personal notes.Yummy!Very nice view and relatively easy to find.Ease of access to the wireless was lacking. I had colleagues who had difficulty connecting their devices.More interactive sessions (doing instead of seeing) would have been great, although I understand it is very difficult to do that given time restrictions and hardware / software limitations. It was unclear that the event was in the private area, and once we found the area it was overwhelmingly loud. Although the night started alright, we didn't get a chance to meet many people.

11/5/2012 13:44:48This was my first yearIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right. They were all different and all informative. Too much of the same thing would have been less interesting.Like Brian Lamb's preso. Dynamic and passionate presenters keep the audience engaged.Yummy!Terrific!Serve the fruit w/ the lunch, please! At least one session on some type of media.Well organized, well run and well received!NIce to see some familiar faces.

11/5/2012 13:48:05This was my first yearIt was alright.Just right. The first one, with Paul Hibbitts. He was energetic, organized, and informative. Brian Lamb's presentation was equally good. Some were not so great. I don't recall the name of one of the presenter nor the topic of her workshop, but there was little content. All I recall is her asking, "any questions?" just 10 or 15 minutes into the presentation.

Too much sitting. There should have been some interactive, get-up-and-meet people activities at one or more points during the day.
Yummy!Nice and bright. Would have appreciated some info on where the washrooms were, which food table was ours, etc. Also, dishes just sort of piled up on the table. Nobody seemed to know what to do with them. Also, the toilets didn't flush properly, which is rather annoying :-)
I like my coffee out of real cups.
More interactive stuff (in person)
It would have been great if you had sent the links to the writeboard activities out during the workshops, so that we could just link to them.
More schedules per table. Don't make people have to ask to have someone pass the schedule.
I would have appreciated more info about what was involved. I didn't realize it was pay-for-your own. That's not a huge issue, but a heads up would have been nice. Nice venue, though. Food was great and service was awesome.

11/5/2012 13:48:19This was my first yearIt was alright.Just right.I liked all of them but the most probably "Virtual Learning Environments at Thompson Rivers University" as it was very visual and practical too.All sessions were interesting.Yummy! It was a great location - easy to get to and comfortable.Nothing. It was a good experience.

11/5/2012 14:10:402 yearsIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right.Learning Commons, because I'm a learning specialist involved in the development of a learning commons right nowThe first presentation - "mobile first" - was very informative and practical. I didn't quite get the TRU virtual learning environment session, though. It was alright.Very convenient to transitMore comfortable seating, not using round tables where someone always has their back to the screen/presenters.

11/5/2012 14:55:243 yearsIt was alright.Just right.I loved Brian Lamb's session because

1) It was Brian
2) he showed change that we can definitely do ourselves.
The sessions were generally good although, I'd like to have more interactivity. The afternoon sessions were a bit more engaging.

Although that thinking session about identity should have been first. It would have been a better way of framing the whole day.
Yummy! The venue was good although a bit airy to really focus on the speakersSomething to do with flying under the radar in order to get something done where a project plan is not the first thing you need to create to start a project.

11/5/2012 15:32:355+ yearsIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right. The MOOC panel because I am interested in the topic. Thought the first session on mobile responsive design was also very good.Sessions were good overall. Would have maybe liked a bit more of mingling...maybe a mandatory changing of seats and shuffling of tables between sessions might add to the energy of the room?It was alright.Okay, Would have been nice to be able to quickly pop out for some fresh air between sessions. The ramp leading into the refreshment room was a bit of a hazard. But nice to have lots of natural light.More hands on sessions. Bit more playing with tools and experimenting with tech.Like to see a hands on session on authoring etext since this will probably be a big deal for edtechies in BC in the near future.Nice work again SCETUG. We have a really great community. Always really enjoy attending ETUG.Was fine. They had good beer on tap and the food was decent :). Room was super hot.

11/5/2012 16:25:565+ yearsIt was alright.Just right. It was alright.Oh my gosh, tooooooooo warm in this venue! Had a headache all night after attending (and I didn't drink). Please consider a better location for next year. Hot and too noisy. Food just okay - I won't go there again.

11/5/2012 16:40:50This was my first yearIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right.I think it was Paul Hibbitts' session. It was informative and resonated with me as it addressed issues around user experience with which I'm grappling at the moment. The Camosun Learning Commons session was of particular interest as it highlighted successes and difficulties encountered in implementation. These insights were useful as my institution is embarking on the creation of a Learning Commons. I also found the session on MOOCs to be very interesting and informative. It gave a local perspective on a global trend that was effective. Yummy! The venue was fab - downtown, central, convenient parking.Congrats. You did a great job.

11/6/2012 7:03:482 yearsIt was alright.Just right.I still remember the first session by Paul well. I like his presentation and how he attached emotion to our work and eventually link it back to students' emotion. It was alright.A bit more interactivities for this day-long workshop, making sure that we get a chance to meet with people we don't usually meet, at least for a portion of the day.

11/6/2012 7:53:44This was my first yearIt was alright.Just right.Paul's presentation was great as well as TRU's VLE. We have to continue to think 'outside the box'.The food could have used some help.Good venue & location, and love that there were windows to brighten up the room.Allow ability to choose own workshops instead of everyone taking the same thing.

11/6/2012 12:30:005+ yearsIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right.they all had something interesting to offeri liked the variety of the dayYummy!goodI'd be interesting in seeing and hearing about how other institutions are doing experiential, applied, and community based learningIt's always a great day and impeccably organized. Thanks so much.

11/6/2012 17:21:355+ yearsIt was great. Just what I was looking for.Just right. The sessions were all great! The MOOCS session was particularly good because of the different experiences of the panel.A greater demo of Canvas would have been great. Also, a bit more time for partner/group participation component of the "Can we talk" session and a more deliberate reporting back structure to capture more thoughts from the groups.Yummy!Excellent - convenient to get to and the room had a great amount of natural light.Nothing, it was excellent!More sessions on how mobile learning is being built in to the student learning experience and how instructional designers and instructors are working with education technology specialists to increase learning effectiveness.Excellent work by the program committee!

11/7/2012 15:38:435+ yearsIt was alright.Just right.Brian Lamb's session. I got really into the Wikipedia improvement assignment idea and frankly stopped listening. Paul Hibbett's session was also very good; jetstrap looks really useful.I really appreciated the interactive sessions, although I don't know how one could make something like the Camosun Learning Commons lessons learned presentation interactive. Perhaps the presentation style would be better dealt with through Lunch and Learn style events over Collaborate?Yummy!Nice space.I think it went well; interactive sessions work well with that group.
