7/27/20131Met with my mentor Karen for the first time, we went through my responsibilities and what I would and would not be able to do. We went through her calender and looked at all the events and activities I would be able to accomplny her on. We also spoke a bit on the project as a whole and what i hoped to gain with her as a mentor. 1

8/6/20135I accompanied Karen to the National Night out in Ontario. While there I met city officials and talked to many citizens. This was a less formal event where we mostly spead information to the city about the FBI and how they could involve themselves, or simply be more prepared in general. At this event i also met another agent who agreed to answer any questions i may have in the future and possibly assist me. 6

8/14/20134Karen and I went to a Job Fair, while there I assisted her in presenting to and answering questions for all present. While at this event I learned much more about the FBI as a whole, along with my interest more specifically. Of course, since i was presenting much of this information to others I retained a lot of the information. 10

9/16/20132My mentor and I attended The West Covina Youth Council meeting. This mainly consisted of her telling her about the Teen Academy Coming up and me assisting pass out papers and answer questions the kids had after her presentation. Along with this I also asked her some questions regarding the FBI that i could use as part of my interview. 12

10/28/20142Today, I met up with my mentor simply to review the scedule of her events, to ask her some questions and conduct my second interview. 14

11/16/20139Attending the FBI Teen Academy, which was special because it took place at the FBI headquaters. Because it took place there I was given clearance to the building. While there I listened to the presentations, assisted with the set up, and talked to the people in attendence. 31

11/13/20139Another attendence of the FBI Teen academy, this time there were different presenters and different teens to talk to. One of the presenters was a child pornography expert and it was really interesting to speak with her about the profiles of those offeders. 40

4/27/20145 Muslim American Empowerment Council Presentations on Fraud and Identity Theft. Because this was not an event fully run my Karen I mostly sat and enjoyed the presentation. It was interesting to watch although it was a bit long and I got lost uite a few times. But, I met new agents which was awesome. 45

4/29/20144 After school I met up with Karen in order to go to the police department and help select which FATS videos were going to be used during the FATS Citizens Academy. I enjoyed being able to se a bit more of Karen's job and the aspects of putting together a citizens academy. After this we headed over to the FBI head quaters in order to begin set up for that nights Citizens Academy. 49

4/29/20144For the Citizens Academy I showed up 30 minutes early and stayed 30 minutes after it ended in order to help set up, meet everyone before the event started, and clean up when it ended. Presentations continued from last week on a presentation about mexican gangs and sexual slavery. At the end of the meeting my mentor and i continued our conversation where she informed me about the Academy's upcoming trip to a range and that she had already talked to her supervisors and I should be able to attend. 53

5/7/20145Once again it never ceases to amaze me the type of programs and events the FBI is involved in. My mentor and I attended a Memorial Service for Fallen Aagents. Not only was this something unexpected for the FBI but it was also just a great experince to have gained. 58

5/9/20147Karen and I attended the Veteran's Community Rezoure Fair at Citrus College. This was basically a Job Fair and because of this the day consisted of answering questions about the FBI with ther and just talking to anyone who wanted to talk to me. Some people asked why I was there and i told them specifically about my senior project and they thought it was very interesting and liked it alot. 65
