5/6/2014 20:37:14Sandeep (Djangos)15297.5The cigar for a lack of better work looks almost perfect! Wrapped in a dark chocolate colored wrapper it is a toro sized box press. The surface appears smooth with a slight shimmer on it. The veins though somewhat visible, are not prominent. I can discern at least 2 caps that are firmly and well placed.95Smells like spiced chocolate! There are definite notes of cedar and leather as well. The dry draw gave out a lot of sweet spices including some nutmeg.95MediumMedium-FullThe initial third starts off with a blast of pepper and spices. The pepper however fades quite rapidly over the next few puffs leaving behind only the spicy flavor. There is definite hits of cocoa and an almost honey like flavor but without the sweetness. The burn is a little uneven as the third progresses but I did not touch it up. The draw was absolutely perfect with the light grey ash holding about a half inch before falling off. There are clouds of thick creamy white smoke. As the third progressed the sweeter profile gave way to leather and hay like earthy flavors. A good start to this good looking cigar.90MediumMediumThough good the middle third was kind of a let down after such a wonderful start. The leather persists as the predominant flavor. The grassy notes are also present with a mild harshness now creeping in. The spicy flavors have faded away. Luckily the harshness does not persist for too long but a slight chemical like character is developing towards the end of the third. The draw remains close to perfect but the burn is getting more skewed and towards the end I notice that only one side is burning properly. The smoke is also maintaining its voluminous and creamy character. I am now hoping for an improvement in the final third.87.5MediumMediumAs I enter the final third I have to finally get out the lighter and touch up the side that is not burning. The flavors however are not changing significantly from the middle third. More leather and grassy flavors predominate and the sweeter flavors are now almost non existent. The burn is still skewing as the third progresses to the very end. Mostly a unilateral flavor dimension in the last two thirds. The draw and smoke are almost perfect to the very end. Pleasant but would have preferred more complexity.97.5excellent draw from the start to the finish.87.5The burn had issues from the very beginning. It skewed form the start and at the beginning of the final third I noticed that one side was not burning at all and I had to touch it up at that time. The skewing continued to the very end.97.5The construction on this cigar is amazing. Smooth wrapper and firm to touch the entire length of the cigar. There are no soft spots at all. There are two discernible caps that are well applied. The wrapper seems to be of high quality.90Had it not been a unilateral experience in the middle and final thirds this one would have scored much higher. I wish it had kept the complexity that I experienced in the first third. There were burn issues that were not deal breakers but definitely took away from the enjoyment. An over all pleasant experience and I want to see if this was an out lier, so I will try another one for sure.65

5/17/2014 19:40:45Milton (mjohnsoniii)15285There was a bit of discoloration throughout this cigar. A spot also that looked as if a plug was pulled out of it and it had prominent veins as well. 92.5I got different notes every time I took a whiff. The scents ranged from barnyard to chocolate to fresh cut grass to coffee. Hopefully it provides as much complexity while smoking it. 92.5Mild-MediumMediumThere was a mild pepper at initial light that tapered off into a roasted coffee and baking spices along with a doughy-type thickness. It was more mild than medium in which I thought a darker colored wrapped cigar would be. 92.5MediumMediumBaking spices were still very much present with the other flavors mellowing out a bit. Nuttiness and leather crept in and provided an interesting twist. Surprisingly, it was very pleasant. 92.5MediumMedium-FullThis cigar finished strong. The nuttiness, coffee and leather and the addition of cocoa gave it the most complexity it's had yet. This has turned out to be very enjoyable. 92.5The draw was simply excellent. It had resistance and tickled the tip of my tongue just enough so I could really enjoy it. 92.5Not the best burn ever but it stayed lit (even when I sat it down for almost 5 minutes) and burned fairly even the entire time. 87.5It was a bit hard in certain places and the wrapper had small imperfections. The double cap was also a bit tattered. It could've been rolled with a bit more care. 92.5This was an overall excellent cigar in my honest opinion. The flavors were constantly changing and there was never a dull moment. It wasn't a "pretty" one but the flavor profile more than made up for its looks (or lack thereof). I'm excited to see what it is. 94

5/26/2014 21:09:48Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)15290This cigar displays a dry toothy wrapper with moderate veins. Fairly dark chocolate wrapper and invisible seams. There is a soft box press and what looks to be a double cap that is uneven and a little loosely applied. The cigar is firm with no soft spots.90The aroma is light and is primarily sweet composted tobacco and a light cocoa note.92.5MildMedium-FullThe initial flavors were deep chocolate and some coffee. Flavors were deep but the strength seems pretty mild at this point. As the first third progressed the flavors deepened further with the primary flavor being bitter dark chocolate (the good kind of bitter) and some white pepper through the nose.90MediumMediumThe second third continued with the deep flavors and the pepper/spice intensified. The flavors became more muddled at this point, and therefore were harder to distinguish. As the strength increased a bit of a peat flavor developed which further muted the cocoa that I was enjoying so much. 87.5Medium-StrongMediumThe final third of this cigar started to heat up, with the flavors becoming deep espresso and earth and a harshness developing. It wasn't so much that I had to stop smoking it but it made me slow WAY down in my puffing. Honestly, I liked the deep espresso flavor very much but could have done without the harshness. I ended the cigar at about 1" remaining due to very hot smoke.90Initial cut was easy but the draw was right so I cut it again, removing the entire cap, which opened the draw enough to be smokable. Ultimately, the draw opened nicely after the first inch and remained very acceptable.95The burn was excellent on this cigar and stayed quite even all the way down. I chose to do one touch up at the final third just to fix a bit of the wrapper that had fallen behind...otherwise I was quite pleased.95The ash was strong and a nice white/gray color. It dropped off in the breeze in 1" chunks that quickly blew away. No construction related performance issues to report.92.5Over all this was a very enjoyable cigar. Not overly complex but interesting, and with the deep cocoa and espresso flavors that I often enjoy. I'd smoke some more for sure depending on the price point.70

6/8/2014 15:16:13Emmett (rhetorik)15287.5Pretty average in appearance with a slightly mottled maduro wrapper, a few veins, and a quick double cap. The filler in the foot sticks out a little further than the wrapper, which takes away from the appearance a little.92.5I get pepper from the wrapper and not much from the foot, just a little barnyard. Pre-light draw gives mild chocolate and cream.90Mild-MediumMediumA very good classic maduro profile to start off with earth, cocoa, and coffee. The finish is dry and short. Towards the end of the third, some cedar flavors come out to play and the finish follows.90MediumMediumI enter this third with cedar now dominating the flavor profile, in a good way. The smoke production is remarkable. Part way through, leather joins the mix which is a nice change. This third isn't very complex, but it is enjoyable. Every once in a while I get a hint of something sweet, but it never stays around.90MediumMediumNow the sweetness is really coming through in the form of milk chocolate, still atop the cedar and leather base from the previous third. The cigar continued in this mannor until the end, still with an excellent burn and draw. A nice finish.97.5Excellent draw, nearly perfect, maybe a smidge tighter than I prefer.95Only needed attention once, other than that a little wavy, but fixed itself.90The construction seemed a little sloppy at first look, but the cigar performed well, no major problems.90This was a pretty good cigar all in all, one that I would recommend for a mid-afternoon smoke. It wasn't very strong, and maybe could have used the kick of a little more ligero, but still made for a nice, mild experience. The classic maduro flavors, and subtle change kept it interesting.120
