3/23/2014 18:21:51Craig (WyldKnyght)13390This robusto (4.5X52) cigar looked very appealing. It had a nice dark brown oily wrapper with a nice tight pigtail cap.85To tell the truth, I thought this cigar smelled like cardboard.87.5Medium-StrongMediumDefinitely a heavy leather flavor to start, although it did mellow out pretty quick. Lots of thick creamy smoke. 87.5Medium-StrongMediumThe second 3rd was pretty much the same as the first, no big change, lots of leather, started to get a slight hint of pepper.87.5Medium-StrongMediumThis cigar was pretty much the same from start to finish lots of leather with a hint of spice, very little change at all.87.5NO issues with the draw, did not detect any issues.90Burn was very good from start to finish.90The construction on this cigar was very good, nice and firm with no soft spots, very appealing.87.5This cigar was a one trick pony. Right from the start to the very end, it was a leathery cigar with a hint of spice. Some may like it that way, but this was definitely not my kind of cigar.

3/25/2014 17:17:30Gregg (McGreggor57)13392.5A nice chocolate robusto sized cigar. Well wrapped and topped with a pigtail. A couple of veins are present but not distracting.95Wood and leather with a hint of cedar on the cold draw. Very earthy and musty in nature.92.5MediumMediumA mouthful of oak & leather with black pepper on the retro. The initial flavors are pretty sharp with the pepper lingering on the tongue. Toward the end of this leg a slightly sweet raisin helps smooth out the flavors ending with a nice balance.92.5MediumMedium-FullCreamy leather, light coffee and hints of toast. The spice on the retro is gone but there is a citrus tartness left on the palate. Deeper into this third I get flashes of floral and cedar before the leather takes over again. There is an interesting back and forth of flavors.95MediumMediumThe final chapter begins with nice mix of coffee and salted chocolate on top of creamy leather. A slight toasted marshmallow on the retro appears from time to time. The flavors in this third didn't make me think to much and provided a great ending to this cigar.90Better in the beginning but no issues throughout.92.5No touchups required and the burn line never wavered too far off line. Good smoke production with an ash that held on for long stretches at a time.95A very well rolled cigar. Seamless in appearance and consistent throughout.95I really enjoyed this cigar. Leather seemed to be the underlying flavor yet never overpowering. The progression through the thirds was balanced with each of the flavors coming to the front for a moment. In the end I was left with a smoke that kept my interest and allowed the flavors it offered to mesh perfectly.65

3/26/2014 7:50:03Ron (shuckins)13395A great looking cigar! Very nice dark, oily wrapper, with a cute little pig tail.90Coffee,with a sweet nutmeg, and light peppery wood smell.87.5MediumMediumI'm old school,so naturally I bit the pig tail off. A little dry tasting on light up, with cedar and light pepper to start. A taste of coffee joined in soon after, and blended nicely to provide a tasty start to the cigar.90MediumMediumLight coffee with hints of leather flavors as it nears the halfway point. Along with a woodsy tasting tobacco that works well together, and actually have a hint of creaminess between them, that's very nice on the palate.90MediumMediumThe pepper toned down towards the end,as the woodsy tobacco moved to the front. Coffee with splashes of leather provided teases of creaminess that sadly, never fully came through, although it was still a tasty cigar down to the nub.90A little tight at first, but still had plenty of tasty smoke, especially after it opened up.95Fantastic burn! Slow and steady, leaving a great looking ash behind.95Very well rolled. A firm, solid feel, and tightly packed cigar.90A very fun cigar to smoke. It had enjoyable flavors, although a couple more dimensions would have been nice.75

3/31/2014 20:46:20Jason (Jokey Smurf)13395This is a very handsome cigar. It is sporting a medium dark brown wrapper and is leaning toward rustic. There are several veins, and easily visible seams. The wrapper has a toothy feel and is heavy in the hand. One feature that I LOVE is the pigtail cap...I really dig the extra touch!90There is a very slight cedar and tobacco aroma with a light, sweet, fruitiness. I'm eager to light this cigar! The pre-light draw is very mild and has a sweet fig note.92.5MildLight-MediumThe first puff of this cigar is very smooth and features mainly a light, sweet tobacco with little pepper. A few puffs later a little more pepper arrives and lingers with the long oily finish. I also detect an underlying cashew note.87.5Mild-MediumLight-MediumThe second third of this cigar has become quite muted. The flavors that remain are mainly a mild white pepper and that is mainly detectable on the retrohale. The smoke still feels oily, but the finish is gone almost before you taste it. I miss the sweetness...92.5Mild-MediumLight-MediumThe final third of this cigar became more interesting. I'm picking up some baking spice notes that remind me of paprika. There is a little more pepper, but no harshness...just a little sinus sizzle to wake me up! The finish is short, and has a brief earthy mustiness. I'm really digging this section.95This cigar had a draw that was really just right...a little resistance, but just enough so it didn't feel like sucking through a straw...hard to be much better. Plenty of smoke for each puff as well.95No concerns with the burn...for the size of the cigar I got a nice long smoke with an ash that held until the end of the 2nd third...Nice!95This was a pretty cigar to look at, and a pleasure to smoke construction wise. Well done.90This was a good smoke, but the last third tells me it could have been great. I'd smoke more, for sure, especially in the morning, or when I just want a nice easy cigar to smoke...And the pigtail is just soooooo cute!80

4/10/2014 17:21:24Milton (mjohnsoniii)13390Love the pigtail. Used to be that a pigtail was a sign of an ultra premium stogie but you are seeing more and more of these popup almost daily. I won’t say any different for this robusto gem before delving into its deep chocolate wrapper. There are clearly visible veins that are all but smooth to the touch and what appears to be a single cap. This was a very good-looking cigar.90There was a deep woodsy scent along with slight notes of raisins and wheat.90Medium-StrongLight-MediumThere was no need for a cutter as I twisted the pigtail off with my teeth, which left an open draw to die for. While taking that pre-light draw, I tasted notes of raisins and honey along with cedar. At initial light, I got a blast of pepper and a hint of sweetness in the background. The smoke was billowing from the onset and really lingered on the palate. Those flavors soon transitioned into more milder spices and sweetness. 90Medium-StrongMediumThe second third began with mild spices and a leather/walnut mix. It was a bit unusual but pretty good nonetheless. I guess that’s the reason for various tasters on the panel, right? The smoke continued billowing and was as creamy as ever. A slight hint of toffee began to show towards the end of the second third.87.5Medium-StrongMediumThe toffee tasted a few minutes ago died out relatively quickly and was replaced with an almost creamy, bittersweet chocolate flavor. Not being a very big fan of chocolate, this third was a bit out of my wheelhouse but far from disappointing. I enjoyed this third, only not nearly as much as the first and second thirds. This cigar ended on a fairly good note. It wasn’t as complex as I would’ve liked but very enjoyable.100Perfect. Period.95About 95% of this stick burned evenly while, at times, burned kinda wacky. There was no need for touch-ups or relights.92.5Not a soft spot to be found on this well constructed stogie. While looking at the foot, the tobacco appeared to be gathered and rolled very well along with the wrapper that was almost seamless. It felt nice in the hand.92.5With the construction, draw and burn, this cigar crept its way into the "excellent" realm. The flavors and complexity alone would have had this cigar rated anywhere between "good" and "very good". I enjoyed it but it wasn't enough to make me scour the earth for another.80
