1 - Bal3025240Still a stud. Is the only DL that is a threat to rush the passer.
4
2 - Sea2215000Looked good, sustained injury.
5
4 - Hou
6
5 - Ten5217140Major part of Chris Johnson's crappy day. Played great against Roos, supposedly one of the best LTs in the game. Batted ball turned into INT for Woodley.
7
6 - Jac448144110What a day getting after the quarterback! In Gabbert's face all day. Scored a +3 on pass defense for blowing up a screen AND making the tackle. Up and down day against the run though. Still, this guy is a beast!
8
7 - Ari0114200Hard day for him. Levi Brown did a great job on him against the run. Still did alright and performed well overall, but got blocked a little too well for my liking, compared to what we've come to expect.
9
8 - NE2246150Tough going against Logan Mankins, who got the best of Brett in the pass rush, but Brett found a way around him, beating other Patriots to the quarterback. Game-sealing strip sack was a slow-motion thing of beauty.
10
9 - Bal7207280Fared very well against Grubbs/McKinnie in run defense. No pass rush.
11
10 - Cin6006120Pretty good job for most of the day. Best among our DL. Struggled a bit toward the end.
12
13 - Cin7217060Gets off his blocker better than any of our other linemen, and so gets more tackles. Read a screen so well it was like he was in the huddle.
13
16 - StL5016000Very consistent about NOT getting blocked out of the way.
14
17 - Cle3504070On back to back plays: batted down a ball, then released into coverage on Hillis, nailed him when he caught it, and ripped the ball out with his hand. Awesome.

Total4420197113470Brett is the best lineman we have at getting off of blocks, against the run and the pass. He's still not a great pass rusher, but he's the best we have and has his moments. He's instinctual, reads screens well. Runs like a tight end, really. Is much stronger than he looks. Aging, but shows no signs of slowing down. Not good news for Cameron Heyward's playing time.

1 - Bal-1013300Does not look like the Aaron we all know. Still an okay performance though. Not bad or anything.
22
2 - Sea3237020Looked great! Strong against the run and got some pressure on the quarterback. Very good at drawing blocks on the pass rush. Earned some points recognizing screens.
23
4 - Hou9007160Fitting performance to end a career. Held strong and made plays against the run all game long, sometimes solo. His absence was felt as soon as he left the field. Watch this game if you think he was washed up.

Total112417480Aaron's career was obviously winding down even without the injuries, but he showed that he wasn't just being kept around for sentimental purposes. Perhaps we were spoiled with his great play over the years, but even in 2011 he was a good player and an asset to our defense.

1 - Bal1001120Only a couple of snaps.
30
2 - Sea2035000Saw more significant playing time when Keisel went out. Played well all around and looked active getting after the quarterback.
31
4 - Hou3005200Decent overall game, starting for Keisel. Continues pattern of holding steady, neither overwhelming nor being overwhelmed. Prefers to give ground and shed the block rather than push forward and remain engaged.
32
5 - Ten2035120Doesn't look so lost on pass rush. Created a little pressure and shared a sack. Fared well against Stewart, supposedly the best RT in the NFL.
33
6 - Jac5118100Holds strong against the run. Wasn't beaten physically. Again, looks able to rush the passer when he applies himself to it, which isn't often enough. Read a screen and got both hands on it, but dropped ball, looking into sun. Would have been a defensive TD. Shame.
34
7 - Ari1025200Pushed back some on a double team when playing NT on the goal line in a way you don't want to see from a NT, which may be a glimpse of what we can expect if he moves there without gaining weight/strength. Did fine at his normal DE though. Showed a flash of pass rush ability.
35
8 - NE2002000No real pressure on the QB today in lots of attempts, but was stout in run defense and looked to be hustling hard.
36
9 - Bal0104420Takes himself out of plays. Is rarely physically beaten, but seems to "look" and "go around" rather than power through like his linemates. Applies to run defense and pass rush.
37
10 - Cin1005400Again, seems more interested in stringing runs out than holding ground. Had a tough game against Andre Smith and was driven back once or twice.
38
13 - Cin4015000Main problem seems to be disengaging from blockers to make tackle. Doesn't get pushed around by one guy though, and holds the line of scrimmage well.
39
16 - StL81210460Lots of good plays, but still gets blocked more than Keisel, which is a high standard. Mostly just want to see him do a better job of getting off blocks and making a tackle himself.
40
17 - Cle4204040Solid game all the way through with some nice plays. Confusing lack of pass rush on hail mary. Uh, it's the last play Ziggy. Get him.
41
WC - Den30-14200Like all our DL in this game, hesitant to rush the passer at all. Was clearly the official QB spy a couple times.

Total365116321160Confusing guy. Has every physical trait necessary. Holds his ground well against the run, rarely gets blocked out of the way. Needs to improve his ability to disengage from blockers to make tackles. Doesn't appear to be trying his hardest to rush the passer. He looks like he doesn't think he has a chance to get to the QB, so instead of fighting he tries to position himself to knock down a pass. He thinks he's playing smart, but he's not. But I wouldn't call it a lack of effort, because he still hustles all the time. It's just bad decision making. If he went balls out every pass play like he should, he'd get 4-6 sacks per year instead of 1-2, and a lot more hurries. In short, he is not a "hole" on defense, but he's not making the plays he could or should. He's a reliable starter regardless, but I think if he changes his ways he'll be even more than that.

1 - Bal5006100The famous "cut block" game. Hard to blame him for those plays. He did adjust through the game and season. Still hard to run on this guy.
48
2 - Sea4004120Good game against the run, as usual. Saw a fair amount of the bench when Seattle got far behind and had to pass.
49
4 - Hou2024120Not a lot of big plays, but looked like he held his ground to me against one of the best centers in the league. Got a surprising QB pressure and drew a penalty.

55
10 - Cin3005320Struggled towards the end of the game, when Bengals were running a lot while behind. Was being blocked with only the center and looked contend to hold his ground and not make a tackle. Resulted in guards blocking Farrior and Timmons. Played much better in the first half.
56
13 - Cin8028040Did much better against Cook today than week 10. Played more like he should. Got a couple QB pressures!
57
16 - StL70110200Clogged the middle very effectively. Most of the big runs by STL went to the outside, or on 3rd down, or both.

Total5206558210Still getting it done -- clogging the middle, not getting pushed out of the way, getting penetration regularly and making it very hard to run on the Steelers. Not the dominant force he was some years ago, but still extremely effective. In the pass rush, is content to draw two blockers and call it a play without really fighting.

1 - Bal9-129270Unstoppable in run defense. Can't be blocked. MVP of this game.
66
2 - Sea51710170A beast against the run. Spent a lot of time in coverage, then rushed the passer more toward the end of the game and did plenty of damage, including a great 4th down sack.
67
4 - Hou4-126220Broke eye bone (yikes!). Had to return to the game with broken eye, unable to see in that eye, after Worilds went down with a hamstring pull. Still played well but wasn't the same.

9 - Bal8014-118213-2Best LB in the game, plain as day. Can't be run blocked, too much for pass blockers to hold for an entire game. Singlehandedly kept us in the game. Did not get cutback lane on Rice's TD, opting instead to foolishly go for Flacco without much thought. Lone mistake.
73
10 - Cin5028220Didn't seem to get a lot of opportunities to rush the passer, and Dalton was quick to throw. Looked like he was playing safe at times.
74
13 - Cin22881100Three sacks and a holding call. Good game elsewhere too, except he blew it on an end-around.
75
16 - StL4013111130In the backfield all day. Not the best game for him against the run, but STL couldn't do much about him rushing the passer. Had one of the most impressive bull rushes I've ever seen, lifting up the LT and driving him off the ground and several yards into the QB, who escaped to the other side because Worilds slipped.
76
17 - Cle5038120Strong game against Joe Thomas, clearly winning the battle in the ground game and getting a couple hurries.
77
WC - Den3037220Team's only real pass rush threat. Only one not scared of Tebow's running. Got burned on the option twice, but otherwise great.

Total45154-1851458-2Against the run, can't be blocked with a tight end; requires OT or more, anything less will be disaster for the offense. Even against OTs he almost always stands them up, doesn't let them move him, and is great at getting off, making tackles. Sets edge well when it's run to his side and crashes down very hard when it's not. Rushing the passer, requires an OT or more. Putting a TE or RB on him almost guarantees a sack. Is fast enough to get around the corner, strong enough to bull rush, and leaves linemen almost no choice but to hold him several times per game and hope they don't get flagged. Dropping into coverage (which he does well) something like 40% of pass plays or more, if he were to rush the passer every pass play he'd have broken the single season sack record more than once by now. Age a concern, but looked phenomenal last year, when he was hurt/weak half the time. Expecting big things for a couple more years.

84
2 - Sea5126030Looked great to me in this game, especially against the run. This during a stretch in which he was accused of playing lazy. Registered a +3 splash play defending the run, impressively fighting through two blockers, one at a time, and making a tackle for loss.
85
4 - Hou6-11734-2Woodley's sloppiness was a contributing factor in the game-losing touchdown, but otherwise played a good game and helped steady a shaky defense.

Total28027-144938-4There was talk that he started the season slow/lazy, but I didn't see it. Woodley is a powerful run stopper and sets the edge very well. Rushing the passer he is almost all power and leverage with not a lot of speed, but it works out. He still runs well but is really half lineman, as opposed to Harrison who is all linebacker. Not good in coverage for a LB, but excellent for a DE. I guess that means overall that he's serviceable. It's not something he's asked to do much. He can take on guards and tackles, and should never be blocked by a TE or RB. We really missed him this year and I can't wait to have him back.
