41			Solace (mental)					Solace (Spiritual)				Mu is the stepping stone to a philosophic and theological peace. The ability and confidence to simply "let go" and be at peace. A trait I have learned many monotheistic believers seem to lack. There is a fear and Doubt and a desperate clinging to the need of Certainty. These traits would seem to foster and nurture anxiety and thus inhibit solace. Factor in a fear of damnation and their solace's destruction is complete. It also has the potential to breed a counterfeit compassion.

45																						The Gnostics were far too diversified to really view as a single body of belief. It acts as a fantastic tool to avoid the trappings of literalism through a proper understanding of myth (mythos) in conjunction with a specific - and I believe - deliberate opposition to historacity. Valuntenus' alternate interpretation of the Garden of Eden story - seen as myth and not history - offers the same potential of solace as Islam's internal Jihad does. However, I had found Gnosticism is far too "hidden", obscure, and esoteric.
