The people who are affected from the development programs, war and forced land grabbing will conduct series of negotiations prior to October 16th and will campaign collectively demanding their land back for farming, also coastal lands for their fishing practices. Roundtable discussion on 7th September with newly elected government politicians and bureaucrats to demand land back to the farmers and fishers. Campaign starting on 1st of October at district level and demand the land and submit petitions to officials. 17 October 2015EConsulting(tm) has been collaborating with EcoC2S (Eco-Creative Services) since 2013 to establish a forest garden. In addition we are farming the forest on a 2 acre site that has depleted clay-like soil with barren areas and very little biodiversity. Since we start working in 2013 we have seen improvements every year to the soil, there is increased biodiversity, more food for pollinators, and there is less barren soil. Join family fishermen at the New England Fisheries Management Council Meeting for a walk out demonstration to tell the council that they have:

1) failed take public input and uphold a democratic process
2) failed to guard against consolidation in the fishing fleet

The Council promised to guard against consolidation when they implemented Catch Shares. They have failed. Family fishers have been forced out of the industry and will continue to be pushed out without safeguards. The Council has failed the public, the fishermen, and the fish. Monday October 5Join AGRA Watch - a project of Community Alliance for Global Justice - to watch a short film about seed sovereignty in Africa, and, to mark the one-year anniversary since our Africa-US Food Sovereignty Summit. Let’s celebrate and discuss the next steps of our work in collaboration with the African food sovereignty movement! After the film, we will discuss the ways in which the control of seeds is being taken from small farmers and increasingly vested in multinational corporations and institutions of the Global North, with the support of the Gates Foundation. This event is being held to coincide with events around the world highlighting the theft of local seeds.

“The origin of food is seed,” says Food Sovereignty Ghana. “Whoever controls the seed controls the entire food chain.”

About the film: “The story of seed has become one of loss, control, dependence and debt. It’s been written by those who want to make vast profit from our food system, no matter what the true cost. October 25, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.We will be harvesting a collective crop of Three Sisters, Maize, Bean and Squash, at la Minga collective farm just outside of Louisville, KY. More than 80 people from an immigrant women and families organization La Casita, from faith communities of undocumented workers, the Preston Highway Presbyterian Ministry, and young ally families from Covenant Community Church, from members of Master Gardeners Class of 2015, and members of Sustainable Agriculture of Louisville, as well as the board and members of Agricultural Missions whose conference was planned to coincide with this action, will all participate. At 2 p.m. La Minga harvest festival will begin at the same location and feature locally grown food and dishes, the much loved music group Appalatin, and others. Area farmers will bring dishes and also produce for sale. A soccer tournament will take place as well as a Piñata for children. Corn grinding and the making of fresh tortillas and tamales cooked on a comal and open fire, sourced from our own maize. RELUFA will also share a Food story on the situation of Food insecurity of population in Far north region of Cameroon. The Food insecurity situation in this region is attributed to difficult terrain and harsh climatic conditions.
