3	6/11/2012 10:39:32	This was my first year		It was great!	Just right	It was alright.	All good	Networking opportunities and great community.	Enjoyed the demo on Wiki usage at UBC	Lovely!	Thursday VCC dinner - amazing! Venue, was ok. Music was a nice touch.			First time at ETUG and was overwhelmed with the sense of community and knowledge sharing. Looking forward to engaging further.

5	6/11/2012 10:52:59	I have attended ALL of them!		It was great!	Just right	It was alright.	Still a few too many texty-powerpoints for my liking, but generally getting better all the time			I don't love the classroom setup in those rooms, but I know there's not much you can do about that. A slightly bigger "transition" space, and one that connects all the rooms, is ideal as it allows for better hallway interactions	Only the dinner, it was pretty good.	A theme I would love to see ETUG explore is "What the Cognitive and Learning Sciences can Teach Educators and Educational Technologists" - there is a huge amount of learning we are now doing about how our brains work and how people learn that in my experience isn't making it down to the practitioner level
6	6/11/2012 10:55:46	5+ years		It was great!	Just right	Loved it!	I really appreciated some of the super-informative, how-to workshops (e.g. Paul Hibbett's WP workshop). It might be worth reminding presenters that a plain old powerpoint, with just slide after slide of text to read, gets a bit dry (even if you do use a snazzy background ;-)	As always: fantastic networking opportunity. Lots of really interesting conversations between sessions too.	Paul Hibbitt's WordPress session, for the reasons described above. Informative & interesting. Included both philosophy/pedagogy as well as the technical side.	It was ok. Convenient location.	Pub night was ok but it sure ended early. The venue was very very noisy & hard to mingle. The VCC dinner was outstanding. Great food, nice music, good venue.	More of the same!	My only suggestion would be a more organized lunch on Thursday. We had a hard time finding an eating place that was still open, still serving a variety of food on Thurs. & it was too rainy to go outside looking for something else. Minor inconvenience.

Keynotes need to be more relevant to educational design/technology or more futuristic/big picture.	Networking		A little out of the way for public transport, but great facilities.	Pub was a little late for people having to travel home.			Divide the sessions in different streams, for example 1. Design Challenges and Case Studies 2. Technology-Hands-on 3. Administrative/Organisational/Operational Challenges and Case Studies 4. Future Trends 5. Research
8	6/11/2012 11:05:16	3 years		It was great!	Just right	Loved it!	I really liked the sessions where we could interact with the presenters. Maybe build in some time to do some sort of problem-solving exercise.	My favorite things about the workshop are seeing ETUGgers again and the realization that we need to talk about our work.	My favorite session was Amanda's and Carlos' session because the tools they used seemed so simple but it is obvious that a lot of work and thinking went into it.I'm always for the simple but elegant application of tools.	Venue was great!	The food during the dinner was amazing and happy that it was made by VCC culinary arts students. The desserts were to die for! The rooms looked like they were a bit too small/crowded.	Maybe do several concurrent lightning rounds based on a theme or do a big room with several "Workshop Tables" around specific them/task. Sure I'll lend a hand!	The sessions on the 2nd day seemed a bit too short, didn't really have time to go into them in-depth.	It was weird to see the word innovation for me since sometimes I feel that the work that I do is not innovative, new or even exciting. Yet when I talk to people about it, they seemed excited, which is awesome.
9	6/11/2012 11:25:27	5+ years		It was great!	Just right	It was alright.	Its always a very worthwhile event, with great organization.	the people, catching up with everybody. The keynote was outstanding, and a really good choice.	the JIBC simulation session because it was so unique and innovative and hands-on. also the VIU session on OERs in South Africa because it was so well informed and well presented.	nice to be in a venue where everything was close together and we could all come together easily. good location to get to by transit.	pub--good spot, it was fun
10	6/11/2012 11:50:25	2 years		It was great!	Just right	Loved it!	The number of technology glitches! Every thing I went to had something go afoul because of technology. While this was ironically entertaining, it was sometimes annoying and some of these could have been avoided.	Keynote speaker on day 1 was great.	Mike Minions - was an expert on what he was trying to achieve and it was an important tech/pedag challenge.	Excellent		collaborative sessions on specific pedagogical issues - e.g., best practices for online discussions, for students to create content, for problem based learning. Sometimes the ultimate goal of ed tech - to make teaching and learning better - gets lost. Would think having more faculty attend would be good as they are the ultimate users of ed tech. More on combining tech and pedagogy in specific situations. No use being a stranded evangelist if the people who could use your work won't hear or listen.		I don't really want to complain but in terms of innovation some of the sessions were not really innovative. For example the one on pecha kucha was a really bad example of using PK - pedagogically there were some poor teaching practices and I have seen PK done really well. Would rather be inspired. Elicit workshops from leaders who can show best practices.

Innovation should be part of every ETUG... it allows us to satisfy the fun part of ed tech	workshops	ipad apps one... very entertaining	perfect	Didn't attend	More of the same	I don't like being forced into discussions, but that's just me	The topics were great. I would think that many of these topics could be repeated as time goes on with new developments	I always thought a catchup on what's new and current would be useful for those of us that are a little behind, but still very interested. Some jargon is used a lot, but I didn't know much/anything about some of it. Maybe a session for us beginners would be useful and then one/some for those that really want to talk about programming details, etc. There's a wide range of experience in the group, even though it is a self-selecting group

This workshop was AWESOME, I enjoyed every session and the Keynote was great, the venue was superb, the organization second to none, can't say enough good things about it. I just met with my Director and told him what a shame it was that my colleagues weren't there.	The sessions were great.	Hard to say, they were all great, I don't think I can say one was my favourite, sorry!	Great rooms, great technology, great food. loved it.	Both were great, I'm not a pub person, but went and had a nice visit with two people from a different unit at SFU. The dinner was great, I sat at a table with a blend of new and old people and it was lovely.	I was talking to Kyle at the end of the day Friday and we were sharing cool apps for the ipad. I thought it would be fun to have a session where people had 30 seconds to share an app and explain how and why they used it, we could have about 40 apps shared in a half hour session. I wouldn't mind leading that session in the fall - guess this won't be anonymous anymore ;-) It's Rob McTavish...
13	6/11/2012 13:13:00	This was my first year		It was great!	Just right	Loved it!	it was interesting to hear from instructors or IDs who were working with different types of courses or curricula. The passion from Paul Hibbits presentation stood out for me.	networking & learning what others are up to	Mobile Learning UX - Better experience, better learning - Paul had such enthusiasm with his presentation, and he was very generous sharing his experiences, knowledge, choice of tools etc, making the whole mobile 'thing' a lot less daunting.	great venue, nice size of rooms, good location	attended pub on wednesday, good networking opportunity

The session length was exactly right, I thought, both from a presenter and an attendee point of view	As always, networking with people I don't get to see often, and finding out what others are doing	QR codes.... :)	Perfect! Great rooms, good location, fab hotels and great versatility for room set up	The Charles bar was way too noisy. I wouldn't go again if it was there, as far as getting to talk to others. The VCC dinner was FANTASTIC.	Might be neat to have a FaceBook page for informal sharing/posting pictures. Maybe for a conference activity, some kind of a scavenger hunt or something fun and ice-breaker-y	nothing, I loved it all.	I can't wait to get the links to the recorded sessions and see stuff that I missed. That is something, actually, that you could promote. I know it was marked in the program, but maybe some clear information about when and how the recordings would be made available-- it might encourage people to choose a different session, knowing that they will see the recording of the other, so it's like a two for one....

I would have preferred more and shorter workshops, but I'm sure the format worked well for many.			Great		I think the idea of a walk-through innovations showcase could work quite well, with each presenter occupying a booth and viewers able to walk through at their leisure, and spend as much time as they liked at the presentations that interested them.	Well - it would have been nice if the technology worked during my presentation (or if I was advised to bring my laptop), but these things happen.	Overall it was great. I love the opportunity to meet with my provincial colleagues.

Keynote was terrific Keith Webster was very good Liked the panel session on innovations in professional development Irwin DeVries session was very informative Thought Sylvia Currie's session was well managed and provocative (and a great intro to spider grams as a tool to reflect on/support communities of practice)	really liked the relaxed vibe the start-off mixer at the Charles Bar - great venue - very conducive to mixing and chatting thought the hotel recommendations were excellent	Didn't have a favorite session - but really enjoyed all the sessions listed above	really worked for me	the start-off mixer at the Charles Bar - great venue - very conducive to mixing and chatting thought the idea of a student-produced dinner was a good one but the food didn't really live up to expectations		Overall - it was a really well-run event; in the scheme of things, more fun to attend than many national conferences
17	6/11/2012 16:56:02	4 years		It was great!	Just right	It was alright.	I thought the sessions were great. Many provided practical solutions to help us, inturn, to provide practical solutions. Many of the speakers brought great energy to the sessions. Perhaps a group notetaking area (etherpad? Google doc?)	I loved the DS106 radio stations. I was late to the keynote but listened to the whole thing on my skytrain ride in. Great application to share.	I liked Robin's and Mike's sessions, as they were hands on demos. The maps session was also very good for providing practical, useful tools. All of these sessions helped "arm" the edtech folks for future needs.	Great venue - central, and to have the culinary school available for a good lunch was a real treat on the Thursday. Love being able to access off of skytrain.	N/A - could not attend.		Group noting area so I could see resources from other workshops I couldn't attend.	Patt yourself on the back for a job well done.

Keith Webster on mobile learning in Moodle, the session using apps Kevin?? The hands on session on captioning.	Great	meal on Thur was excellent to bad more people did not attend
19	6/12/2012 9:01:56	2 years		It was great!	Too long	Loved it!	Lightning sessions were great. Some of longer sessions could have been more effective in a shorter time. Some sessions could have been repeated.	The food and location were fabulous. It was great to connect with others in the professional community.	Captioning on You Tube as it was engaging and hands on.	The venue was outstanding.	ETUG pub on Wednesday was a good, interesting location. The VCC dinner was amazing.			The keynote although interesting was a little disappointing for me. To me, she didn't really understand her audience and assumed we were all extreme in our use of technology - this seemed to be so far from the message conveyed in the fall workshop. For me, her overall message of the stranded evangelist missed the mark for our group.
20	6/12/2012 14:17:17	5+ years		It was great!	Just right	It was alright.	Keynote was excellent! She really hit the mark & provided a lot of great soundbites on supporting innovative practice. The session that Amanda & Carlos led was excellent & was a wonderful example of a working team (ID, faculty member, technologist/media specialist). Having concurrent sessions made it difficult to see everything I wanted to see. Perhaps some of the sessions could be offered again? Through TELL perhaps?	Good networking opportunities built into the schedule. Like the Lightening Rounds (esp. the horn!). Could have done a 2nd one of those that was less organized too, more like a browsing or group problem-solving session where groups are set up at tables with a challenge they are trying to work through & people circulate & contribute.	Already described in 1st question: Amanda & Carlos.	Excellent! VCC did a wonderful job & were very generous & responsive!	Always great to network with colleagues. Nice variety of food @ the dinner.	See above re: lightening sessions.	Can't think of anything specific. Great workshop! Thanks for all the hard work.
21	6/13/2012 13:28:20	This was my first year		It was great!	Just right	It was alright.	All of the presenters were passionate about what they were doing. I felt the descriptions of the sessions did not always match what the session actually ended up being or covering.	The keynote speaker was excellent - very engaging and on point. Meeting others - networking	Really enjoyed the session on 'Praxis' simulation - it was hands on, giving us a chance to play with the tool.	Good central location - rooms were also set up well.			Generally the experience was good. I don't know that I saw anything particularly 'innovative', but obviously there is a lot of good work being done with existing technologies.

23	6/14/2012 13:24:59	This was my first year		It was alright. But not really my thing.	Just right	Loved it!	Some of the sessions I attended were not what I had hoped. The appeared to be more about reporting on research studies than about sharing technology ideas.	Networking		It was great.	Great pub, I didn't order any food but the venue was nice. The VCC dinner was fantastic. I really liked the music. It felt like we were dining in a Parisian cafe.			I would have liked to hear more about technology that would help me move my courses to a distance ed format.
