I'd be up for making large amounts of words. Maybe ask for other people who ar eup for the task?
Personally, I don't want to much influence because the intentions of my daughter languages are for personal projects. But a minimum of simple culture behind the language (at least in the proto phase) is necessary.keep up the awesome work! Can't wait to see this fruit!

A problem with this could be synonyms, but these necessarily wouldn't be bad if they could be controlled a little.
To control overlap we could assign to individuals a list of translations shorter than the block of words, leaving some creative wiggle room.
I really like the suggestion of a nondescript archipelago with small islands. This could leave room for newcomers later in the game and allows for people to scratch the conworld itch if they feel so by allowing them to design their own island, but not the system of islands.I understand that the delays are unintentional and unpredicatable, but it may be quelling the zeal and excitement of some participants.

Other than that, thanks for taking the time to organize and lead our little project!

Cultural terms, foods, animals, weather phenomena, etc. will be affected based on how the conworld functions. A tropical environment might not have a word for snow or ice, or may have those words derived from "mountain" or "high up" or something to that effect. Similarly a temperate environment likely wouldn't have words for hurricanes, tsunami, etc.

If they've never seen horses (because they might not have them), then the word might just be akin to "big-dog". If they are traders they might all (or mostly) be bilingual, which means there will be lots of borrowing to consider.

Then people may suggest definitions for those words as replies. People vote via upvotes and, after a week of voting, the most upvoted definition wins. Any words not defined can either be recycled or dropped from the vocab.

For Human generated words, I'd suggest a sign up thread, with deadlines. So, say /u/so-and-so signs up and says that he will post a thread with 20 words and definitions by X date. Of those, people nominate their favorite 10, with the most nominated words entering the lexicon.
Not at all. Personally, I'm against setting anything down about a conworld. Let each of the conlangers decide for themselves how the language is represented for them in their own creations. This should not be a collaborative world building project, that's getting too far into the weeds.

Quite a lot actually; at the very least words that describe the world would have to refer to the world. Perhaps the world might be a Capsica (a very hot world with two-tone plants) – then all the plants would have two subdivisions for their leaf colour. Grammar-wise it's not unthinkable to have a human-like thinking too, so that shouldn't be affected all that much. So the differences would mainly be lexical.

Certain people who are responsible for maintaining a google doc with all definitions in reply to each with a set of wordgen outputs (maybe a few more than the proposed lexemes) and the commenter assigns the provided words to the lexemes. Potential for high contributers to invent and define a few words themselves.I like the archipelago scheme... Not sure of the effects beyond the kind of words includedNope!
