1/6/20145For the first day, Carlos presented me the information of the businesses that had a membership with the commerce and I simply had to study and learn about the business I was going to be working with for the few weeks.

1/8/20145Again I continued reading through the descritptions of all the business in Pomona. This time I also got an excel document that showed their different incomes and all the money they make. Carlos told me to compare the incomes of similar businesses and identify their differences.

1/13/20145Today Cralos had me create my own lists from the information i had aquired from the different businesses. He also had me rate them from the most competitive to the least competitive businesses. I didn't finish all of them today. Carlos had to help me because he said I was leaving out possible competitors from certain businesses.

1/15/20145I finished the lists today. After what I had learned from my mentor and Carlos I learned the importnace of competitivness among businesses. I also learned tha tthere are alot of "mom and pop" businesses in Pomona. I just found that really interesting.

1/20/20145Today it was like a "Follow carlos around day". Basically he had a bag full of busniesses cards from the busniess that our tied with the commerce, and we went to different stores and random pedastrians and we just handed them out. While doing so he showed me some techniques on how to approach people to actually get them to pay attention to you.

1/22/20145Today will be my final day working with Carlos. Therefore today he took me around to talk some of the managers of different businesses. I honestly felt like a learned alot today because i saw the different ways businesses began and the struggles they had to endure. This is really going to help me with my presentation because I found something common in all of these busniesses. Alof of them said it was very hard to compete with thte other businesses around them. especailly if they had been around longer and already had relationships with their cutomers. I also talked to alot of entreprenuers and it was interesting to learn about the methods they use to advertise themselves.
