Its teh vroadest level of human anatomy so it covers each organ system and their functions. Throughout this unit there was basic terminology to help you understand the concepts better. As I was going thorugh this unit I took notes in my notebook on all of the videos and documents I had to watch and read. At the end of the unit I took the quiz/assessment and scored a 38 out of 40 or 95%. | 9 hours |
3 | 2/22/2014 | 4 hours and 30 minutes | Today I completed Unit 2 of my independent component. Unit 2 covers the integumentary system, which is basically the skin. Throughout this unit it talked about the structures of the skin, hair, nails, and cutaneous glands which are all parts of the integumentary system. The integumentary system is the structure that provides insulation and a first line of defense against infection. Throughout the unit I took notes on the videos and the documents that were in the subunits. At the end of the unit I took the quiz and scored a 38 out of 40 or a 95%. | 13 hours and 30 minutes |

I watched 2 lectures that were 2 and 3 different lectures combined into one video. These videos cover the basics of the skeletal system. During these videos I took notes in my notebook on the key terms and important information. This will help me pass the quiz at the end of the unit. | 21 hours |

I also watched lectures on more of the basics of the skeletal system and the bones of the lower extremities and the foot. 6 | 3/2/2014 | 7 hours and 30 minutes | Today I finished up unit 3. Today I read a bit in the Gray's Anatomy book on the skeletal system. I finished up the ecture videos on the skeletal system and read up on parts of the bone. During all of this I took notes in my notebook to help me pass the unit 3 assessment. This was a complex lecture my Professor Marian Diamond from UC Berkeley. The information was from a general human anatomy book. Next, I listened to a lecture on the different muscles of the thorax and abdomen. There was a reading from Gray's Anatomy to go along with it which focused on the muscles of the trunk. The last subunit I did focused on the muscles of the hip and lower limbs. Then I read a section on the mechanics of muscles in the Gray's Anatomy book. There was also another reading on animal cells and tissue by John Kimball.
