3	Lettuce ( for window sill)	in - done	1/23		Planted 9 soil blocks Red Sails.	Potted up 8 seedlings for windowsill growing on 2/8; planted 1 in front yard panter on 2/13.	Did not grow well inside. I got one cutting (3 oz.) but it didn't regrow well. Will not grow inside again.
4	Celery	in - done	2/1		Planted 12 yogurt cups of Tall Utah #527OR Improved, 4 seeds to a cup. Germination was 100%, so 12 seedlings were moved to single Dixie cups, the rest were disposed of.	Transplanted 3/15.	Too early, start on Feb 15 or later in 2013
5	Onion (seeds)	in - done	2/1		Planted two identical containers (80 & 91 seeds) Southport White Globe onions, same seed source, different packets. The 91 seed container failed to germinate a single seed, while the 80 seed container had fairly good germination.	On 2/15 I emptied the non germinating container of seeds. I did find two tiny seedlings, so I scraped the top layer of soil into a pot outside.	Do not grow from seed in 2013, buy plants

8	Beets	in - done	2/12		Planted 20 Chioggia seeds in 10 yogurt containers. Nine containers have Miracle Gro potting mix, one has Burpee organic seed starting mix. check to see which does better.		Do not start beet seeds indoors in 2013, but MG beets grew 4x as large as the others.
9	Lettuce	in - done	2/13		Planted 6 Dixie cups of Paris Island Cos.	One seedling emerged on 2/15, just two days after planting. 100% germination, transplanted 3/15.	Start 2/15 in 2013. Excellent germination, strong seedlings ready for planting at proper time.
10	Spinach	in - done	2/13		Planted 3 Dixie cups of New Zealand, will transplant to front yard containers as an experiment on early planting	2/29 After 16 days, none have germinated.	None germinated. Later try with presprouted seeds had 50% germination (3 of 6). If grown in 2013, presprout all.

12	Parsnip	in - done	2/15		Planted 24 soil blocks Harris Model. Half in Miracle gro, half in Burpee's organic seed mix	0% germination after 30 days.	Even presprouting only resulted in 4 viable seeds from the entire pkt. Ferry Morse seed.
