Brewing Notes:From the middle of the page here: http://howtobrew.com/section4/chapter19-4.html BJCP style: http://www.bjcp.org/2008styles/style07.php#1b Good test to see how much heat blue guy loses in 60 min....Pretty weak -- only ~4%, good color and lager-y aroma though. should be ~6 % ABV, IBU79, bottled 8/18/11Hop To It kit "Texas Hold 'Em" should be ~ 4.8% ABV, IBU 16*: pumpkin cooked at 300 degrees for an hour (peeled/rough chop) ABV~5.5%Krausen explosion! Blew the top off the fermenter after airlock filled with foam...Yeast also took 2 days to start (with a vengeance)...When bottling the oatmeal protein had already started to make the foamy head I expect -- smells really good, like Guiness & Coffee...prolly leave out quite so much hops next time.Hurried through the brew process and only boiled for 30-40 min rather than the full 60. Compressed hop schedule etc too...Yay for wort chiller though, I would have killed the yeast if I'd tried this before.Compare with Mark's all-grain version of the same beersmelled a little banana-y while bottling, I may get a new bucket -- this one has smelled that way the past fewthe inspiration: http://ryanbrews.blogspot.com/2012/03/petite-raspberry-saison.html wrapped primary in a heating pad to keep temps up http://www.wyeastlab.com/hb_yeaststrain_detail.cfm?ID=60 less than 1.020 on 11/20/12, but still bubbling Really happy with this one. raspberry is subtle and taste is like a mild saison (though, getting a bit more tart as time goes on -- definitely save a few for the summer)...will brew this again for sure in the summerDuplicating Razaison, going for slightly more tart and more alcohol. Smells a LOT more raspberry-y at bottling. Slow start for the yeasties, but thick white krausen smells like the funk...bring on the funk...gotta have that funk...oh we want the funk...http://food52.com/recipes/27125-homemade-alcoholic-ginger-beer

Going for med ABV with a ton of hopsRepeat of "citrusy pale ale" with a little darker malts and more hopsExtra flavors: coronavirus

Tasting Notes:Let's hear about this! Was amazing in Aug/Sept: but by then I'd drank most of it...Turned out really good. The idea was that this would be a good 'background' sour for other additions and it's perfect for that. I think if I'd added some raspberries (now, maybe) it'd be good. Was also thinking about tea flavors...

Would also be good if added more malt I think for a darker/brown color/flavor
Like this a lot...maybe a bit more hops just before bottling...and a longer fementation/aging -- it's getting better with age
