| Base pack (no food/water) | 7964

| Sleep/Shelter/Pack | 2666
| Alpine pack ~45L (DIY) | 719 | generally comfortable. some workmanship flaws showed up but otherwise held up well to 2 flights and 18 days constant use. Webbing is slippy & could use a hipbelt for heavier days. Perfect size. |
| Drybag (Podsacs ultralight XXL) | 78 | difficult to seal well, although fit the bottom of my bag better than most. |
| Rab Survival Zone bivvy | 340 | good, but serious moisture ingress in heavy showers where pooling on bag and on mat underneath. More for snow I think. Used as insect protection. |
| Micro-tarp & pegs (DIY) | 335 | perfect. lifter patch may be nice. |
| NeoAir mat | 400 | comfy some nights, not others. Ground solid everywhere. Noisy thing in general. Packs small. Not convinced. |
| Leg quilt (DIY) | 456 | great. handled some extensive bivvy moisture, naturally adjustable cover in sleep. Half the insulation thickness but larger area would have been better & worn base legs more on cooler nights. |
| Pillow (poundland) | 58 | oh yeah. |
| Ear plugs | 9 | useful to drown out snores or mosi buzz, but a bit sore in the ears to lie on. Used once. |
| Trekking pole + approx 1m duct tape | 271 | didn't actually use with such a light pack - only for pitching tarp but custom pole would be lighter for this. |

| Water & Cooking | 1152 | |
| Water - 750ml sport top & bottle holder | 83 | Easier to monitor/control consumption than bladder. |
| Ortleib 4L water bladder | 130 | Essential. used daily at camp & on trail. Full for a 12hr day with no water source, still not enough! |
| Opinal copy/Swiss classic SD | 48 | cut much charcuterie sausage, nails, beard, picked teeth, tweezed uber tick. Bought proper Opinal on way home :) |
| Spork | 10 | as ever...perfect |
| MSR Titan kettle | 125 | brill. 200g pasta is too much though, 150g may be workable. Should have brought pot-cosi. |
| MSR Chopping board | 71 | great - slides down back of pack |
| Gelert Can/bottle opener | 8 | never used. any cans were easy open. |
| Cup (Orikaso) | 52 | great for wine or holding tea if trying to boil up eggs. slides down back of pack. |
| Plate (Orikaso) | 46 | Good for meals. |
| MSR Pocket Rocket stove | 86 | awesome for tea, forgot windsheild but worked well |

| Gas canister | 300 | got there - free at 1st campsite! Was left behind, otherwise up to 10euro if found anywhere |
| protein shaker | 84 | necessary evil of single use and wasted space. Used. |
| extra buff | 38 | pot cleaner /drier - not really used but stops things rattling around in kettle |
| |||
| Miscellaneous | 2008 | |
| Mini compass (Silva) | 18 | Better than a button compass. For emergencies /proving points - used more in towns. |
| Head torch (Petzl Tikka) | 76 | For writing and stumbling to the bathroom etc. Red lens is more like candle light than tactical. |
| Pen & notepad | 136 | Inka pen is the best thing. Paper for notes & journaling. |
| Camera (Olympus Mju II) & 10x film | 450 | Used 8 film. Camera can be used in rain, at beach, etc. Great results (hopefully) |
| Mini Gorilla-tripod | 47 | Used a few times for long exposure or self-portrait, but rocks used more. |

| Sunglasses & cord & case | 48 | Used travelling & on beach. Sunhat sufficient on trail. |
| Sunscreen - 200ml P20 | 112 | Top stuff. Apply once, sweat & swim. Never burn, a little tan. More than enough for head, neck & arms. |

| Dry bags | For food & stuff

| |||
| Hygiene - toothbrush, 25ml toothpaste, 100ml soap, bic razors, comb, TP, alco gel, lip balm | 230 | All good. Dr Bronner's Tea Tree liquid soap great for everything, used about 60mls. Toothpaste prob good for a month. |
| MSR travel towel - small | 26 | Hang loop ripped out. Half the size would have been adequate. |
| extra cord | 15 | 2mm dyneema for washing line / repairs |
| clothes pegs 4 | 24 | to secure washing |
| |||
| Passport | 29 | |

| |||
| Extra Clothes: | 1157 | |
| LS wool top | 220 | Lovely for night-time |
| long leg thermals | 195 | worn once when washing all other clothes. more appropriate with thinner quilt maybe. |
| bed socks | 88 | Not used. |
| insulation (RAB Generator Alpine) | 520 | certainly used, but maybe full length quilt & down vest would have worked? |
| v.thin gloves | 28 | Not used. |
| Thin socks spare (Decathalon running) | 36 | Used & binned at end. Hung on to dust, didn't dry well and stunk quickly. |
| Undies spare (Under Armour) | 70 | Great. Easy wash & dry. No pong. Comfort central. |
| Flip-flops for camp | 220 | Got there cheap. Did the job, although may camps not flip-friendly due to mountainous nature! |
| |||
| On/Off Clothes: | 715 | |
| Rohan Central shirt | 300 | Love this. Pockets, sleeves roll nice. Wicks & dries incredibly. Cuts wind well. Comfortable. Bobbles a bit only disappointment, though will likely last 10yrs. |
| Jacket (Rab Alpine Softshell) | 285 | Brill. Breathes very well. Other than mist no real rain protection. Smells a bit chemically.. |
| Wide-brim sun hat (TNF) | 92 | Shades from light & heat of sun. Top kit. |
| Buff | 38 | Need I say anything? Great as a beanie in the evening. |

| |||
| Food | 2646 | |
| Protein 60g /Oats 100g x10 portions | 1600 | Gritty, but effective. |
| Treats | 500 | Went through v. quickly. Magic 'lambas bread' tasty choc biscuits & slabs of Chocolate main resupply. |
| VitaminC & Zinc effer x20, Ginseng x15 | 112 | For the health & vitality with restricted diet. Lay off the Vit C for a few days when it tasted like blood! |
| Salt/Pepper/Herbs | 64 | For the tasty eggs and pasta. |
| Cooking oil | 100 | Not used - should have left out when frying pan discarded. |
| Sleepeasy teabags & teabags | 100 | Because a brew is nice on expedition. |
| Hot choc powder | 170 | Didn't use much actually, but had enough for 11 days. |
| |||
| |||
| Clothes worn: | 880 | |
| Merrell trail shoes (+dirt!) | 400 | Amazing rock grip & feather weight make for practically running up hills. Stony tracks work feet very hard though and there is no tread for steep dusty descents. No doubt the care needed for foot placement is why my knees & legs were fine, but descents felt slow and feet feel internally bruised near the last few days. Approach shoes or stiffer trail runners may be better compromise for solid european trails. |
| Thin socks (Decathalon) | 36 | Used & binned at end. Hung on to dust, didn't dry well and stunk quickly. |
| Undies (Rohan) | 70 | Great. Easy wash & dry. No pong. Comfort central. |
| |||
| Rab Easy Rider trousers | 279 | Perfect. Became the dirtiest trousers in Corsica, and thereafter a tribute. |
| SS synth tee | 95 | Comfortable, wash/dry well etc. But drying on rocks does lead to small holes. |
| |||
| Didn't make the cut: | 1123
| Blizzard stake as trowl | 23 | use trek pole |
| debris gaiters? | no need
| Sterilizing tabs/drops | 28 | Only real source is spring water so not needed. |
