Social Data Visualization: Theory and Practice

The interactions of users on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter leave digital traces that can be analyzed in a variety of ways. One increasingly popular approach to investigate such relations is through visualization, for example using graphs. This session will both be about the theoretical assumptions underlying visualizations and the hands-on practice of creating them using publicly available data and software.
