2 | This spreadsheet started off as a simple way of seeing the number of hours/sorties flown by individual aircraft, but as things do, it snowballed into what it is now, hopefully a one stop source to take you to further information.
3 | The database has been expanded further by David Harvey with links to his English Electric Lightning Survivors Google map and the English Electric Lightning Losses Google map. David has also put together photo albums for each individual airframe and these are hyperlinked to the tail Number on the 'All Marks' page. The photos are either our own or donated photographs and where known are correctly credited to the photographer and contain the date and location of the photograph. If you see a picture that is yours and it is not credited to you or wrongly credited then do please let us know and we will either remove it or append it with your details. If you have photographs of individual tail numbers that are missing from the albums, or photos that you would like displayed, and are willing to let us use them then please contact us (see bottom of page).
4 | This is an ongoing work and will be updated as and when new information becomes available, there are discrepancies that have been found when going through the available information, but hopefully these will be resolved with the passage of time, so we ask that if you do see glaring errors or can update any of the information as to airframe locations etc then please let us know. | Lightning startup sound file, download to listen
5 | The information used to put together the database has been sourced and cross checked from many sources, mainly books and websites, the main ones can be found below.
