Week Beginning: Monday 26th September 2022
Our central idea:
People Learn and Care for Others
Next week our focus text will be | Learning about the story ‘The Gruffalo’.We will be relating this to our Learner Profile Attribute of being a ‘Risk taker!’ We will be learning how to sequence the story by making story maps as well as identifying rhyming words throughout. We will be making our very own Gruffalo biscuits by following instructions carefully! Yum! |
Phonics | We will be learning the codes /p/ and /n/ and the sounds they make. We will be learning how to apply this into reading and writing by reading and writing words containing the sounds. |
Maths | Our number story of the week is ‘4’. We will be learning about the composition of this number and identifying numbers which make 4. We will be learning to subitise 4 as well as count and order numbers to 10. |
Literacy | We will be learning how to hold a tool for writing. We will be writing the words taught in our phonics sessions as well as writing about the characters in the Gruffalo as well as writing words about nocturnal animals. |
Inquiry | We will be learning about nocturnal animals as well as the different characters in the Gruffalo. We will be making a new home for the characters in our Forest session on Wednesday! |

Thursday 29th September 2022: EYFS Yoga session. Please ensure your child is wearing their P.E. kit on this day! Monday 17th October 2022: 2.15pm-3.00pm Stay and Play Session. We kindly ask that siblings do not attend this event. |

Please ensure all items of clothing are named! Our Outdoor Learning Sessions will take place on a Wednesday afternoon. Our P.E. sessions take place on a Wednesday morning. |
