Dyamics:
Loud and soft in music. I am going to introduce you to the main dynamic levels.
Here we go…
Kye Kye Kule
This is a call and response song from Ghana which is located in Africa, I sing then you sing. Here we go!
Now try singing Kye Kye Kule with different dynamic levels.
And...here is the game!
Game/Activity:
This is a fun activity that builds skills in leadership and in following directions.
Children form a circle as the leader stands in the middle. The leader demonstrates the physical action, then the children in the circle repeat that movement as they repeat the leader’s singing.
With each repetition of the song, the leader is moving closer and closer to the floor. When the last movement is performed on the floor, the leader jumps to their feet. The first child in the circle to get back up on their feet is the next leader!
The Washington State Song
Washington, My Home
Words and music by Helen Davis and arranged by Stuart Churchill
This is my country; God gave it to me; I will protect it, ever keep it free.
Small towns and cities rest here in the sun, Filled with our laughter, "Thy will be done."
REFRAIN:
Washington my home; Wherever I may roam;
This is my land, my native land, Washington, my home.
Our verdant forest green, Caressed by silvery stream;
From mountain peak to fields of wheat. Washington, my home.
There's peace you feel and understand in this, our own beloved land.
We greet the day with head held high, And forward ever is our cry.
We'll happy ever be as people always free.
For you and me a destiny; Washington my home.

Now...use different dynamic levels to create something spectacular!

Tom the Toad
Chorus
O Tom the Toad, O Tom the Toad
Why did you try to cross the Road?
You did not see yon passing car,
Now you are stretched upon the tar.
Chorus
You were my friend and now you are dead,
You bear the mark of tire tread.
Chorus
You ran upon the yellow line,
Now you are just a streak of slime.
Chorus
I always knew you had a few brains,
Now they are spread across the lanes.
Chorus
Just like this song, your life is o’er,
That’s all there is, there ain’t no more.
Chorus
1. Nobody likes me,
Ev’rybody hates me,
Guess I’ll go eat worms.
Long, thin, slimy ones,
Short, fat, juicy ones,
Itsy, bitsy, fuzzy, wuzzy worms.
2. Down goes the first one,
Down goes the second one,
Oh, how they wiggle and squirm,
Long, thin, slimy ones,
Short, fat, juicy ones,
Itsy, bitsy, fuzzy, wuzzy worms.
3. Up comes the first one,
Up comes the second one,
Oh, how they wiggle and squirm,
Long, thin, slimy ones,
Short, fat, juicy ones,
Itsy, bitsy, fuzzy, wuzzy worms.

Stay on the sunny side,
always on the sunny side,
Stay on the sunny side of life.
You will feel no pain
as we drive you insane,
If you stay on the sunny side of life.
I Love, Bananas, Coconuts, and Grapes
Repeat around five times. Each time getting softer, then loudly on “Tarzan of the Apes.”
I love bananas, coconuts, and grapes,
I love bananas, coconuts, and grapes.
I love bananas, coconuts, and grapes,
That’s why they call me,
“Tarzan of the apes!”

La Bamba originated in Veracruz.
Sing in unison the first time, then half the group sings "not yet" while the other half sings the song, then they switch.
Black Socks
Black socks, they never get dirty
the longer you wear them the stronger they get.
Sometimes, I think I should wash them but something keeps telling me
Oh no, not yet ... not yet … not yet.

I don’t know about you…
but I am missing some of my favorite restaurants!
The other day (the other day)
I met a bear (I met a bear)
In tennis shoes (in tennis shoes)
A dandy pair (a dandy pair)
The other day I met a bear,
In tennis shoes a dandy pair.
(Do each verse like this, first echoing each line, then singing it straight through.)
He looked at me
I looked at him
He sized up me
I sized up him.
So I did run,
Away from there
But right behind,
Me came that bear.
Ahead of me,
I saw a tree,
I saw a tree,
Oh Gracious me!
The only branch
was ten feet up
I’d have to jump
And trust my luck.
And so I jumped
Into the air
But I missed that branch
Away up there.
Now don’t you fret
And don’t you frown
‘Cause I caught that branch
On the way back down.
The moral is
No shocking news,
Don’t talk to bears
In tennis shoes.
Found a Peanut
1. Found a peanut, found a peanut,
Found a peanut just now,
Just now, I found a peanut,
Found peanut just now.
2. Cracked it open, cracked it open,
Cracked it open just now,
Just now, I cracked it open,
Cracked it open just now.
3. It was rotten…
4. Ate it anyway…
5. Got a stomach ache…
6. Called the doctor…
7. Penicillin…
8. Operation…
9. Died anyway…
10. It was a dream…
11. Woke up…
12. Found a peanut…
