RSS Feeds
RSS Feeds: What is it & How it Works
RSS or Really Simple Syndication is also referred to as Rich Site Summary. Most popular sites, news sites, and blogs provide RSS feeds for users to subscribe to. All you need is a feed reader to view its contents. Whenever a user opens their RSS reader to get the headlines for the sites they normally monitor, they will also see your site's updates as well.
Instead of relying on them to bookmark your site and return at a later date, the RSS reader keeps your site fresh in their minds.
RSS Feeds: Benefits
Webmasters are dumping newsletters and switching to this method of content distribution because they don't need to worry about dodging spam filters.
When you send an email newsletter more than 40-50% users do not receive it due to either spam filters or bulk junk mail that subscribers receive.
With RSS feeds, you don't have to worry. You're simply sending out a news feed for all readers.
