Share Reports / Dashboards

Optimize 2.0 Requirements

2 of 3

In a Nutshell

People should be able to read-only a report or dashboard without being logged in

Solution for 2.0:

  • As an logged in user, I can “share” a report or dashboard
  • This means, I explicitly allow the report or dashboard to be viewable with a specific link
  • I can revoke this, i.e. I can disable the accessibility
  • This approach could also be applied to embeddability
  • I like the UX approach in Metabase (on the right)

What happens when I access a report/dashboard in “read-only”?

I can, well, read only :)

This means:

  • I can see the report or dashboard
  • I cannot edit the report or dashboard
  • I cannot change the sharing configuration
