The Eval Center
We are excited to meet you!
This social story will tell you about your TRANSITION ASSESSMENT at The Eval Center.
Some people also call this a VOCATIONAL EVALUATION.
This is a picture of our building.
Here is a picture of the lobby. Our office is on the FIRST FLOOR. It is in Suite 180.
The energy efficient hall lights may be dim and brighten as you walk down the hall.
This is our suite.
It’s at the very end of the hall.
This is where we will be working for the day. We have many tables and chairs where you can sit or stand to do the work and activities.
Some of the activities that we do will look like school work.
Other activities will look like a job.
Some activities might look like a puzzle or an activity you would do with your hands
Everything that you work on will help us learn more about your skills and abilities.
Speed and accuracy are important for work.
We may use timers to see how quickly you work.
Some people like to use a schedule while they are doing their jobs and activities.
Here is a picture of one that someone used.
Similar to work….
…You may like some tasks and not like others.
…Try your best on each task.
…If you have a question or need help, please ask.
…If you need a break, let your evaluator know.
This is a picture of the lounge. It is near the lobby of the building.
Some parents/guardians/rides wait here while you complete your work.
If you bring your lunch, you can relax here and eat your lunch.
If you’re more comfortable, you can eat your lunch in The Eval Center suite.
We have five people who work at The Eval Center. Your parent or teacher can tell you who you will be working with on the day of your evaluation
