Synergy and Google Classroom are now able to communicate with each other. Many teachers are experienced using one or both of these systems. This slidedeck will allow you to choose how you use these systems in a way that meets your needs!

2. Default Assignment Type - is the designated assignment type for assignments created in Google Classroom. Gradebook will also attempt to match an Assignment Type from the instructions field of the Google Classroom Assignments and if unsuccessful, it will use the default.
3. Default Points Value - Match Max Score Value: is the recommended setting. It will match the point value and max score.
4. Sync Block Phrase (Skip Sync) - If you do not want your assignment in Google Classroom to sync to Synergy Gradebook, include this exact phrase in the Google Classroom Instructions. Do NOT change this phrase. This will prevent syncing of assignments from Google Classroom that will not be graded.

Enter the class code from Google Classroom to connect the SIS course to your Google Classroom class.
When you have entered the Google classroom code for each of the classes you want to connect click
IMPORTANT! The date entered here will be the date Google assignments will sync. It will default to yesterday’s date which you can change to a future date to prevent duplicates in case you already graded in Gradebook before the integration.

You can create assignments in either Synergy SIS or Google Classroom. There isn’t a right way to do things which is why this training lets you choose your own adventure. On the next slide you’ll be asked to pick a pathway but you can always go back by clicking Back to last pathway in the bottom right corner of the slide if you want to change your course. You can also click Home if you want to go back to the refresher slides on either system.

Use raw score for a score type.
Whatever max score you enter will appear in Google Classroom.
Everything else you can set up as you normally would then:

The assignment should show up almost immediately in Google Classroom. If it doesn’t click the Google in the top right corner of the Synergy window.
You can also click on the title of the assignment and choose edit assignment. On the right hand side of the assignment there will be a hyperlink that takes you to the assignment synced in Google Classroom.
