Meet the artist Matthew Willey. He tells the story of pollinator conservation through art.He created several exhibits at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo to help connect all life on our planet.
“A swarm is the expansion of a healthy, thriving hive and one of the most sublime experiences in the natural world. By presenting pollinators in a whole new light, I hope my art causes visitors to share in my wonder and awe of these magical creatures and inspires them to take action to conserve and protect all species great and small.”

Meet the artist Michael Candy. He imagined and created a method of artificial pollination, using 3D-printed robotic flowers to help increase the bee population. A conceptual project, the Synthetic Polleniser is a system of robotic flowers, designed to be safer for bees to pollinate than real fauna.
"It is common knowledge that bee population is suffering worldwide due to pesticides, climate change and Varroa mites – for these problems we can find solutions."

Meet the artist Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg. She wanted to create something that would not be designed for humans. Her clients were the pollinators of a certain area in her country. Starting with the question - if pollinators designed gardens, what would humans see? She created an algorithm to help people design a garden that supports the maximum pollinator species possible, using plants from a curated selection of plants chosen for their benefits to pollinators.
"Art doesn’t need to be useful, but it can be transformative. An artwork won’t save pollinators, but I hope it's a way to deepen our connection with them."
Use her algorithmic tool to create unique gardens for endangered bees, butterflies, and other essential pollinators to flourish in.
