Station 1: Drawing

One person will be drawing on the whiteboard, the other person(s) will describe the picture card

Be sure to include physical descriptions so it is drawn correctly, as well as colors and shapes. Describe everything in detail!!!

Station 2: Fingerspelling Quotes

  • One person will take the fingerspelling quote card and fingerspelling, and the other person will write down what they see
  • When finished, compare the card to what was written down, and what the quote was
  • The catch is that the person who is fingerspelling can't fingerspell the word twice. You will just have to interpret what you saw the first time around

Station 3: Bingo

I will randomly sign vocabulary words to you, and you will need to use your knowledge to correctly cross off the word on the sheet

Whoever crosses off their words first wins!

Deaf Culture

Mastering fingerspelling is an important part of Deaf culture. Deaf people sign very fast and everyone signs a little differently. This is referred to as an “accent”. This is why to be fluent in sign, you must excel in both receptive and expressive skills of fingerspelling.
