Summer 2022 Lessons Learned
“Next summer we will incorporate more project-based learning and enrichment activities for students in order to increase engagement and love of learning.” |
“Due to extremely low student response to attend the Career Accelerator Program it had to be canceled for the 2022 summer. There were many local, community summer programs that our program was in competition with. In looking towards the summer of 2023, our plan is to partner with these community organizations to support identified, at-risk students to attend.”
Summer 2022 Lessons Learned
“For the PRC 177 program, the camp would be shorter in duration and target older students. We would also focus more on specific pathways chosen by the students.” |
“Recruit staff and students earlier, continue to partner with local businesses to target workforce development skills that are important to them.” |
“…Lessons learned from summer 2022 are to create awareness earlier, conduct parent/guardian informational sessions regarding the innovative CTE camps, provide “how to register for camp videos,” create a CTE Camp data reporting matrix, and a clear timeline for transportation requests and district planning.” |
Summer 2022 Lessons Learned
“We plan to use MOUs for all community partners.” |
“We may also decide to offer incentives in one particular cluster versus rotating attendees through all the career clusters.” |
“I believe that we should have a shortened time frame and a more focused recruitment process for teachers. Planning ahead to engage teacher interest. Although those that worked this summer have already agreed to participate if we do this again. Their takeaways from the program were huge! Our community members want to help and be involved! Continued planning to expand these opportunities.” |
