Different Characters

In the story, there are some parts that show responsibility and choice. To begin with, we are going to present the parts that show the choices made by both the prince and the swallow.

SWALLOW:

Firstly, the swallow made the choice to stay by the Prince’s side even though he had to go to Egypt with his friends. Also, every time the Prince wanted to help someone, the swallow helped him and never left him.

PRINCE:

The fact that the Prince chose to sacrifice himself by giving parts of his body and destroying his appearance shows a choice he made which involves self-sacrifice.

Responsibility

Now, what we are going to discuss is the responsibilities.

PRINCE:

Firstly, when he was young and alive he used to care only for himself and wouldn’t see the sadness around him because he was enjoying his life with his rich family in his palace. He was quite irresponsible because of his youth. When they made him a statue, he saw the misery of his city and he started to help people and caring for them. He thought that it was his duty to help others.

SWALLOW:

The swallow showed responsibility because he was a responsible helper to the Prince and tried to do everything right. The first time he helped people he feel like very moved by this and discovered what happiness was.

We need to add that another thing that shows responsibility is the workmen who picked up the statue when it lost its shining.

Our personal interpretation

As we know , not only in the story but in our life too ,we need to make some choices and be responsible for many things. We agree with the story’s choices and responsibilities because the things that happened in the story are possible to happen in our lifetime. The story gives some messages really important for being kind and helping others. Also, it is really important to understand what being responsible means when you’re a teenager, because it will let you become a better adult in the future.

Moreover, we think it’s important to see the misery in the world to realize that everything is not perfect and some people need help. In the story the characters are open-handed and it’s a good quality. Then the story shows how to not be selfish to take care of others by share with them first-needed, and reduce inegalities.
