Potential tree planting locations in North College Park

53^rd Ave & 52^nd Pl – Triangle island bordered by 3 streets

Pros:

• Flat area with good exposure for tree growth
• Adequate space for attendees to gather
• One bench is currently installed at the location, as well as a dog waste station
• Sidewalks in the area allow for easy accessibility by pedestrians
• Availability of on-street parking, or at the (MNCPPC) Hollywood Park for attendees that arrive by car
• Site is located in the neighborhood away from busy/noisy traffic

53^rd Ave & 52^nd Pl – Triangle island bordered by 3 streets

Cons:

• No electric service currently on-site for tree lighting
• Not centrally located within the district
• A declining existing Pin Oak in the center of the island will need removal. This does not necessarily need to be done in advance of the tree planting
• A few small size maturing trees are currently planted along on side of the island, but will not impact the planting of a new tree, however they will take up space as they grow
• Bordered on 3 sides by streets instead of 2 sides

Pros:

• Flat open space large enough for the growth of a large size maturing evergreen tree, with good exposure for growth
• No competition from other trees on the site; one new tree planted at the north side of the site
• Plenty of space for attendees to gather
• Sidewalks in the area allow for easy accessibility by pedestrians
• Availability of on-street parking for attendees that arrive by car
• Site is located in the neighborhood away from busy/noisy traffic
