Revision Technique of the week!

How does this work?

Every Thursday period 1, you will be given a different revision strategy to have a go at. You will be revision topics being currently studied in English, Maths and Science.

Why now?

Long term- to prepare you for your real GCSE exams. Short term- To prepare you for your end of year 10 exams- 3rd June.

Revision technique number 3: ‘Flip and fold’

So far, we have covered:

  1. Buzan mind mapping
  2. Cornell notes
  3. Seneca

What is Flip and fold?

Step one: get a plain piece of A4 paper and take notes, bullet points on your topic.

Step two- fold it over. On the folded side, make a mind map (basic) on the main ideas without looking!

Step three- Fold again and write down 5-6 key words that summarise your notes- without looking!

Step four- Draw 5 images that represent the topic- without looking!

What example can I use?

On the next slide, there is an example of a topic that you will need to understand for your Maths GCSE-

This topic is- ‘The Rule of Angles’ This topic should be the title of your revision notes.

Note- if you have another topic in mind from a different subject, then please feel free to chose another topic- as long as it’s something that you need to know for your exams.
