The Alabama Virtual Library provides all students, teachers, and citizens of the State of Alabama with 24/7 online access to premier library and information resources free of charge. AVL provides access to several types of resources such as Dictionary/Encyclopedias, Literature, Current Events, Business, and E-Books to name a few.
Select one of the education levels (Elementary School, Middle School, High School, College and University, Adult Resources, E-Book Resources and All Resources etc.) from the "Resources for Alabama" menu at the top of the AVL website.
Navigating the Alabama Virtual Library
The AVL Discovery Search will search most AVL resources. Click on College and University Resources. Here students can access Databases, Peer Reviewed Journals, E-Books, Encyclopedias, Newspapers and many more resources, "Search Additional Resources" to individually search resources. that are not included.
Students may contact the Stone Robinson Librarian through the service Ask A Librarian on the library's web page for more assistance with navigating the Alabama Victual Library for their research projects.
