Keynote Speaker: Dr. Mike Ybarra�
Michael Ybarra, M.D., FACEP, FAPCR is a board-certified emergency physician and Vice President and Chief of Medical Affairs at PhRMA. In his capacity at PhRMA, Dr. Ybarra leads stakeholder outreach on federal and international health policy issues and PhRMA’s internal and external medical affairs engagement. Dr. Ybarra continues to work clinically in the Emergency Department at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

NHPA Region Highlights
Dr. Judy Gonzalez is an assistant professor for the school of pharmacy. Who coordinates and teaches endocrine and special populations. She also has an ambulatory care practice site where she manages chronic diseases and assist in travel health.
Dr. Monica Vera-Schubert has been a pharmacy manager at several CVS locations, corporate recruiter and trainer, immunizer and oral contraceptive prescriber. Her community involvement include the development of programs "Aire Fresco" (Asthma education for elementary students and their families), "One Choice Can Change Everything" (educating about opioid misuse), "Dose of Knowledge" (educating on all misused medications), along with bringing awareness to Substance Use Disorder.

“I was born in Michoacán, Mexico and grew up in Richmond, CA. I graduated from UC Davis in 2019 with a B.S in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and a Minor in Chicana/o Studies. I am a first-generation student passionate about furthering Hispanic health and mentoring and empowering students from disadvantaged backgrounds, like myself, to pursue and reach their educational goals. My pharmacy interests include ambulatory care and psychopharmacotherapy. My personal interests are being a cat mom, hiking, yoga, and long distance running.”

“While working on my PharmD, I was selected to contribute in a Pharmaceutical Cancer Research Program investigating drug delivery for Multiple Myeloma. This experience helped me understand the severity and complications that cancer patients suffer. Besides this research, I joined multiple organizations and actively sought responsibilities and leadership roles. Also, in the midst of COVID pandemic, I volunteered to administer vaccines to help alleviate the health crisis. These experiences and dedication to understand and advanced the field of pharmacy help me achieve induction to both Phi Lambda Sigma and Rho Chi associations.”
