HOW STUDENTS CAN HELP THEMSELVES

  • BE A PLANNER:
    • Start thinking about your post-high school goals now. Your grades and GPA from freshman year set the foundation.
  • BE BALANCED:
    • Work hard and have fun. Join activities but keep academics a priority. Manage your time well.
  • BE PRESENT:
    • Attendance matters. Missing school increases dropout risk. Be here and ready to learn every day.
  • BE RESPECTFUL:
    • Respect teachers, yourself, and peers. Treat others well to avoid discipline issues.
  • BE RESPONSIBLE:
    • Make up missed work, study, ask for help, and seek clarification. Your GPA starts your first semester—make it count.
  • SELF-ADVOCACY:
    • Use tutorials, the Academic Learning Center, and Academic Recovery Plans to support your success.
