About Mrs. Miller

I received my Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and Credential from UCR.

I have been teaching for 22 years.

I am a district induction coach, coaching new

teachers.

I am married and have 2 children that keep me very busy!

Student Arrival and Dismissal

• School begins promptly at 7:40 AM.
• Students should not arrive on campus before 7:15 AM.
• Breakfast is available to all students. Kindergarten students eat breakfast at the start of school.
• Dismissal is at 2:05 pm M, T, Th., Fri.
• Dismissal is at 12:35 pm on Wednesdays starting 8/20/25.

-If someone other than yourself will be picking up your child, please be sure that they are on your child’s emergency card.

-If your child normally rides the bus, and you need to pick them up instead, a note MUST be sent

Bus Riders

• Please make sure your child has his/her bus pass EVERY DAY

- Your child will not be allowed on the bus without a pass.

​

• An adult (listed on the emergency card) MUST be at the bus stop to pick up your child.

​

Attendance

• Attendance is crucial!
• Missing a couple days of school puts your child far behind.
• If your child is absent, please send in a note or notify the office.
• Any work missed from being absent will be sent home when students return.

Technology

• Peralta’s kindergarten classrooms have Chromebooks for each student.

​

• Having computers in the classroom will provide students with the opportunity to enhance their technology skills. We will use these devices in a variety of ways to enhance what we are learning in Kindergarten. 

​

• When we are using technology, we will always have a focus about what and how we are using them in regards to our learning.

Homework!

​

• Homework is essential because it helps your child develop responsible habits and provides him/her with the opportunity to reinforce or extend skills learned in school.

​

• Students will be assigned weekly homework.
• Assigned on Mondays and due on Fridays

​

• Homework should be interactive between the student and parent.

​

• All homework should be completed in pencil and all writing should be done by the student.

• Students will be provided with a homework folder.
• Homework folders need to be brought to school everyday.
• Please check your child’s folder and backpack daily and sign the Parent Communication page (calendar).

Report Cards

• Each child will receive 3 report cards this year.
• Standards based report cards

Students will be graded on the individual standards that were taught during the trimester.

Parent/Teacher conferences will be held

Thursday, October 30th and Friday, October 31st. Please sign up for a time.

Reminder…

• Please make sure your child is able to unzip, unbutton, and undo their belts in order to use the restroom.
• Please write your child’s name on ALL of their personal belongings (sweaters, jackets, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc.)
• We recommend that you send a small, healthy snack everyday with your child to eat during recess. Please make sure your child knows the difference between a snack and a meal/lunch.
• Don’t forget to include a spoon or fork if needed.

Llegada y salida de estudiantes

• Todo trabajo perdido por ausencia se enviará a casa cuando los estudiantes regresen.

Tecnología

• Peralta cuentan con Chromebooks para cada estudiante.

• Contar con computadoras en el salón les brindará a los estudiantes la oportunidad de mejorar sus habilidades tecnológicas. Usaremos las computadoras de diversas maneras para enriquecer lo que aprendemos en kínder.

Tarea

​

La tarea es esencial porque ayuda a su hijo/a desarrollar hábitos responsables y le brinda la oportunidad de reforzar o ampliar las habilidades aprendidas en la escuela.

• Los estudiantes recibirán tareas semanales.
• Las tareas se asignan los lunes y deben entregarse los viernes.

​

• La tarea debe ser interactiva entre el estudiante y sus padres.

​

• Toda la tarea debe completarse a lápiz y el estudiante debe escribirla.

​

Carpetas de tareas�

​

• Los estudiantes recibirán una carpeta de tareas.
• Las carpetas de tareas deben traerse a la escuela todos los días.
• Por favor, revisen la carpeta y la mochila de su hijo/a diariamente y firmen la página de Comunicación con los Padres (calendario).

• Siempre necesitamos toallitas húmedas para bebé, toallitas con cloro, barras de pegamento, papel blanco para fotocopias, marcadores de borrado en seco y artículos para incentivos.

Boletas de Calificaciones

• Cada niño recibirá 3 boletas de calificaciones este año.
• Boletas de calificaciones basadas en estándares

Se evaluará a los estudiantes según los estándares individuales enseñados durante el trimestre.

Las reuniones de padres y maestros se llevarán a cabo

el jueves 30 y el viernes 31 de octubre.

Recordatorio…

• Por favor, asegúrese de que su hijo pueda abrirse, desabrocharse y desabrocharse el cinturón para ir al baño.
• Por favor, escriba el nombre de su hijo en TODAS sus pertenencias (suéteres, chaquetas, mochilas, loncheras, etc.).
• Le recomendamos que lleve una pequeña botana saludable todos los días para que lo coma durante el recreo. Por favor, asegúrese de que su hijo sepa la diferencia entre un su botana y su comida/almuerzo.

Club de las 100 Millas

• La inscripción es gratuita para los estudiantes.
• Los estudiantes pueden intentar correr o caminar 160 kilómetros antes de que finalice el año escolar.
• Esto es opcional para todos los estudiantes de kínder.
• Se pueden acumular millas en carreras organizadas por las escuelas preparatorias de nuestro distrito después de clases
