Student Support

  • KPMC Orders books! Students don’t have to worry about finding the correct edition or format.
  • Transcripts - KPC sends final transcripts TO the KPBSD Coordinator, so classes are recorded accurately each term.

What is Middle College?

  • A dual-enrollment program that provides a supported transition to post-secondary education.
  • An avenue for students to earn a high school diploma through completion of college classes.

Middle Colleges Around the State:

Kenai Peninsula: Kenai Peninsula Middle College & KPC/UAA (Est. 2020 - 61 students)

Anchorage: Alaska Middle College School & UAA

(Est. 2019 - 293 Students)

Mat-Su Valley: Mat Su Middle College School & MSU/UAA (Est. 2016 - 210 Students)

Fairbanks: North Star College & UAF

(Est. 2021 - 40 Students)

Enrollment:

Students participating in middle college will retain their “affiliate” school enrollment *Must be enrolled in a Brick/Mortar school program - ie: SoHi, KCHS, Homer, etc

  • Students apply for KPMC through the KPBSD website.

  • Students must meet the eligibility requirements for Middle College:

    • High School 11th or 12th graders
    • 2.5 or higher GPA
    • Placement test into college level coursework
      • WRTG 111 OR
      • Math 105
    • Participation in KPMCS Mentoring and Seminar course.
