Information dating back 30+ years was housed locally in multiple locations. Recognizing the need to streamline and modernize outdated processes, Kawasaki turned to LaunchPad Lab.

The Approach

A Blueprint Workshop was facilitated to map out the intricacies of the processes. After identifying critical challenges, the team prioritized consolidation of engine data as the foundation for the solution. The team decided to leverage Heroku to ensure scalability and ease of use.

The Solution

The self-service portal empowers dealers to access engine specs and replacement options that meet EPA compliance requirements. Dealers can now:

  • Enter model/specs or serial numbers to search, review, & access replacement data.

The new self-service portal empowers dealers to independently access engine specs and replacement options. In addition, the streamlined workflow would better meet EPA compliance requirements.

With the engine replacement finder, dealers can enter Model/Spec or Serial Number details to search, review replacement options, and access up-to-date engine data.

Once the correct engine is selected, a dealer could add the engine and parts to their shopping cart for ordering.

The solution created a modernized workflow that expedites the EPA-required documentation process.

By automating key steps, the solution significantly improved efficiency and reduced errors in the engine replacement process.

Enhancing the Lead Assignment Process with Salesforce

The Challenge

As a rapidly growing privately-held real estate brokerage, Lamacchia Realty’s database had reached its limits. The company’s existing lead assignment system was inefficient and unreliable. Leads came in through Salesforce, which synced out to AWS where the business logic was applied, and then returned to Salesforce, all through API calls. This led to a slow process vulnerable to timeouts, rate limitations, and data inaccuracies.

The Approach

The firm set out to design a more reliable, faster lead assignment system and turned to LaunchPad Lab for their expertise. Together, the teams met to rewrite the business logic.

A design diagram was used reflect the updates, map logic to the code, and validate the approach. The design was then put through QA to ensure all inputs worked effectively.

The Solution

The new workflow leveraged Heroku Connect for a bi-directional sync between Salesforce and a Postgres database on Heroku app. The combination would improve the speed and reliability of the synchronization.

With Heroku Connect in place, the could then focus on developing an “invisible app” (i.e., no user interface) to encapsulate the custom lead assignment logic operating behind the scenes.

The Results

The Heroku app allowed Lamacchia to maintain their complex lead assignment process while still running the core of their business on the Salesforce platform and no longer being subject to the platform’s limits for larger data volumes.

Streamlining the Search Experience for 3,500 Futures Traders

The Challenge

As the only self regulatory, industry wide organization for the U.S. derivatives industry, the group’s portfolio needed an updated tool for members to search the directory. The search function needed to connect users with the right information. In the past, users struggled to access the information they needed in a timely manner.

The Approach

NFA turned to LaunchPad Lab for support. The teams met to understand how to better serve investors as well as potential members. The new search tool needed to reduce the amount of domain knowledge required for a user while providing them with more information faster. The discovery process involved a variety activities to inform the outcome and designs.

The Results

The new design mockups include a custom HTML/CSS based style guide. The style guide allowed developers to integrate the new designs with the website’s existing codebase. This sped up the development process by allowing developers to reuse new components without having to re-develop the existing site.

The Solution

The new sitewide enhancements improved the search function and navigation.

  • Implementing autocomplete in the search enabled users to view the detail page faster.
  • A utility search bar within the internal pages gave quick access to conduct more searches.
  • The site adheres to NFA’s brand guidelines to create a seamless experience from the website to the search tool.

With 100+ employees and a strong sales record, their primary focus is on pension services. They partnered with us to solve the inefficiencies and manual processes they faced in report generation and data handling.
