Jesus, his call was clear and strong;

The challenge was to sing his song;

He preached good news; he countered wrong;

Some came; they wanted to belong.

Jesus had come to Galilee;

He called to Philip, “Come with me”;

This was, for him, new territory

But he had found his destiny.

Written about in prophesy

“This one from Nazareth is he”;

Nathanael said, “This cannot be.”

But Phillip urged him,“Come and see.”

We hear the call as real today;

To come to Jesus as ‘The way’;

In him we find - it’s on display -

Our new potential for each day.

We hear from Jesus long ago

Inviting us to come and grow;

To seek our best, and then to go

To where our love can overflow.
