Objective

Challenge: Objects in Motion — The Mobile Phone Charger

Your Task

Create a 30–45 second motion graphics film featuring a mobile phone charger.

Bring this everyday object to life through animation, movement and visual storytelling. Give the charger an unexpected personality, behaviour or purpose. You may make it transform, react, interact with its surroundings or take the audience on a surprising visual journey.

Your objective is to turn an ordinary mobile phone charger into an extraordinary motion experience.

The central question:

Can you make an everyday mobile phone charger tell an extraordinary story?

The charger must remain the central subject of your animation. The story, animation style, environment and creative interpretation are entirely up to you.

Tips for Success

Start with an interesting idea, not complicated software techniques.

  • Think about the unexpected possibilities of a mobile phone charger.
  • Ask yourself: What if this charger could think, feel, move or behave differently?
  • Develop a simple story before beginning animation.
  • Create a storyboard or a sequence of key frames.
  • Focus on anticipation, timing, spacing and follow-through.
  • Use camera movement and transitions only when they support the story.
  • Sound can make a simple animation much more engaging.
  • Test your animation before final rendering.
  • Ensure the charger remains recognisable throughout the film.
  • Keep the final message clear and memorable.
