Understanding
the user
User research: summary
We’re creating a mobile ticketing app to aid seamless movie ticket purchase for our Movie Theatre; Fort Cinema. We noticed that our competitors offer dedicated mobile apps for their customers to get tickets to the movies, and they have been very successful.
User research: pain points
Difficulty getting movie ticket
Users find it hard to purchase tickets at major cinemas in their states in Nigeria online.
Long queues at cinemas
Users in mor urban areas meet long queues at cinemas and end up miing on getting a ticket after a long wait.
No cinema seat reservations
Inability to reserve eats beforehand excludes individuals with disabilities and special needs.
Watching movie witout consumables
Users want to be able to order their onsumables before getting to the cinema to avoid these items finishing ahead of time.

Going forward
Takeaways
Impact:
Fort Ticket would solve a problem I personally experience; “getting movie tickets comfortably and securely.
“This app is good and would help me keep a track of interested movie I’d like to see at the Cinema” - Kizito
What I learned:
I learned the importance of designing for the user and putting the user front and centre, afterall the product should solve their problems and not just the designer’s.
Recommendations
Moving forward using the data from the research study which led to proper insighting and review, we have implemented the following in the design and hope to implement some other things into our future UX research.
Next steps
Conduct another research using a larger group of participants to futer break down the poduct’s uses and issues.
Add more functionality to the entire product and make it easier to use.
Create a brand identity, voice and presence for the product in order to sell the idea!
