Future Ready PA Career Portfolio Implementation
To help ensure that all students in Pennsylvania are on track for meaningful postsecondary engagement and success, PDE has included a measure of students’ career exploration, preparation, and readiness as part of Pennsylvania’s state and federal accountability system through the Future Ready PA Index.
The implementation guidelines below will outline leadership and staff expectations in meeting college and career measures for the Future Ready PA Index for all schools.

Principal | •Principals will monitor Future Ready PA career portfolio progress using the Qlik app. |
SBTL | •School-based Teacher Leaders (SBTL) will be responsible for ensuring teachers are aware CEW connections and Naviance tasks in instructional units and providing coaching and instructional support. |
Teacher | •Teachers will facilitate and ensure all Future Ready tasks in Naviance are completed in the classroom as indicated in their content unit overviews. |
Counselor | •Counselors will be responsible for loading transcripts and sending all eDocs via Naviance. •Counselors will facilitate in collaboration with teachers tasks that indicate/require counselor support •Counselors will monitor Future Ready PA career portfolio progress as needed and in accordance with Chapter 339 |
SPECM | •Special Education Compliance Managers (SPECMs) will be responsible for working with Special Education Teachers to complete appropriate tasks for students with complex needs. These students' artifacts will be monitored in Naviance by SPECMs. |
Bilingual Counselor (BCA) | •Bilingual Counseling Assistants (BCA’s) will support teachers with task completion for learners of English |

| 1. Define next steps to get you to your life passion. Watch the linked. After watching the videos, think about what you learned. How can you define what you want from life? How can you define your next steps without fear of failure? 2. Review the SMART goal format: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely. Why are each of these items necessary when creating a goal? Why is it important to set goals even if we are scared? What should you do if you do not meet a goal you set? 3. Write at least one SMART goal and make a plan. Ask students to write a goal in the SMART goal format and write a plan. The plan should include an outline of specific next steps, measurable/achievable metrics, reasons why the goal is relevant, and the time in which each step should be completed for their overall goal deadline. 4.
