و اما الاخوة فللوقت ارسلوا بولس و سيلا ليلا الى بيرية و هما لما وصلا مضيا الى مجمع اليهود. و كان هؤلاء اشرف من الذين في تسالونيكي فقبلوا الكلمة بكل نشاط فاحصين الكتب كل يوم هل هذه الامور هكذا. فامن منهم كثيرون و من النساء اليونانيات الشريفات و من الرجال عدد ليس بقليل.
Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily [to find out] whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men.
فلما علم اليهود الذين من تسالونيكي انه في بيرية ايضا نادى بولس بكلمة الله جاءوا يهيجون الجموع هناك ايضا. فحينئذ ارسل الاخوة بولس للوقت ليذهب كما الى البحر و اما سيلا و تيموثاوس فبقيا هناك. و الذين صاحبوا بولس جاءوا به الى اثينا و لما اخذوا وصية الى سيلا و تيموثاوس ان ياتيا اليه باسرع ما يمكن مضوا.
But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds. Then immediately the brethren sent Paul away, to go to the sea; but both Silas and Timothy remained there. So those who conducted Paul brought him to Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him with all speed, they departed.
و بينما بولس ينتظرهما في اثينا احتدت روحه فيه اذ راى المدينة مملؤة اصناما. فكان يكلم في المجمع اليهود المتعبدين و الذين يصادفونه في السوق كل يوم. فقابله قوم من الفلاسفة الابيكوريين و الرواقيين و قال بعض ترى ماذا يريد هذا المهذار ان يقول و بعض انه يظهر مناديا بالهة غريبة لانه كان يبشرهم بيسوع و القيامة.
Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was given over to idols. Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the [Gentile] worshipers, and in the marketplace daily with those who happened to be there. Then certain Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, "What does this babbler want to say?" Others said, "He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods," because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection.
فاخذوه و ذهبوا به الى اريوس باغوس قائلين هل يمكننا ان نعرف ما هو هذا التعليم الجديد الذي تتكلم به. لانك تاتي الى مسامعنا بامور غريبة فنريد ان نعلم ما عسى ان تكون هذه. اما الاثينويون اجمعون و الغرباء المستوطنون فلا يتفرغون لشيء اخر الا لان يتكلموا او يسمعوا شيئا حديثا.
And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, "May we know what this new doctrine [is] of which you speak?. "For you are bringing some strange things to our ears. Therefore we want to know what these things mean". For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing.
فوقف بولس في وسط اريوس باغوس و قال ايها الرجال الاثينويون اراكم من كل وجه كانكم متدينون كثيرا. لانني بينما كنت اجتاز و انظر الى معبوداتكم وجدت ايضا مذبحا مكتوبا عليه لاله مجهول فالذي تتقونه و انتم تجهلونه هذا انا انادي لكم به. (أع 17 : 10 – 23)
Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, "Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious;. "for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:. (Act 17 : 10 – 23)
و اما الاخوة فللوقت ارسلوا بولس و سيلا ليلا الى بيرية و هما لما وصلا مضيا الى مجمع اليهود. (أع 17 : 10)

اما الاثينويون اجمعون و الغرباء المستوطنون فلا يتفرغون لشيء اخر الا لان يتكلموا او يسمعوا شيئا حديثا. (أع 17 : 21)
For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing. (Act 17 : 21)

و لما لم يجدوهما جروا ياسون و اناسا من الاخوة الى حكام المدينة صارخين ان هؤلاء الذين فتنوا المسكونة حضروا الى ههنا ايضا. (أع 17 : 6)
But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, "These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. (Act 17 : 6)

فغار اليهود غير المؤمنين و اتخذوا رجالا اشرارا من اهل السوق و تجمعوا و سجسوا المدينة و قاموا على بيت ياسون طالبين ان يحضروهما الى الشعب. و لما لم يجدوهما جروا ياسون و اناسا من الاخوة الى حكام المدينة صارخين ان هؤلاء الذين فتنوا المسكونة حضروا الى ههنا ايضا. (أع 17 : 5 – 6)
But the Jews who were not persuaded, becoming envious, took some of the evil men from the marketplace, and gathering a mob, set all the city in an uproar and attacked the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, "These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. (Act 17 : 5 – 6)

فازعجوا الجمع و حكام المدينة اذ سمعوا هذا. فاخذوا كفالة من ياسون و من الباقين ثم اطلقوهم. (أع 17 : 8 – 9)
And they troubled the crowd and the rulers of the city when they heard these things. So when they had taken security from Jason and the rest, they let them go. (Act 17 : 8 – 9)

و لما سمعوا بالقيامة من الاموات كان البعض يستهزئون و البعض يقولون سنسمع منك عن هذا ايضا. و هكذا خرج بولس من وسطهم. (أع 17 : 32 – 33)
And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, "We will hear you again on this [matter"]. So Paul departed from among them. (Act 17 : 32 – 33)
فاقتنع قوم منهم و انحازوا الى بولس و سيلا و من اليونانيين المتعبدين جمهور كثير و من النساء المتقدمات عدد ليس بقليل. (أع 17 : 4)
And some of them were persuaded; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks, and not a few of the leading women, joined Paul and Silas. (Act 17 : 4)

و لكن اناسا التصقوا به و امنوا منهم ديونيسيوس الاريوباغي و امراة اسمها دامرس و اخرون معهما (أع 17 : 34)
However, some men joined him and believed, among them Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them. (Act 17 : 34)
