CHS settings and supports for students with IEP’s:

  • General education classroom with accommodations and modifications
  • Collaborative Consultation
    • Special education teacher serving in a consultative role to a core content endorsed teacher
  • In-class support
    • Co-teaching with a general education and special education teacher
  • Pull-out resource support
    • Small group instruction with a special education teacher outside of the general education classroom

IEP-Individualized Education Program Includes:

  • A ’present-level’ statement (how the student is currently functioning)
  • Services the student will receive and frequency/duration of those services
  • Accommodations to the school/learning environment
  • Modifications for academic success
  • Annual measurable educational goals (what do we expect the student to achieve by the end of their IEP year)
  • Plan for standardized testing
  • Benefits of inclusion in a general education setting

Our continuum of services provides different service delivery models to provide specially designed instruction to a student with a disability. Some of the services such as consultative teaching and integrated co-teaching services are directly designed to support the student in his/her general education class while fostering independence and developing advocacy skills.
