The first step to making Auxdata ‘user friendly’ is to customize the way information is presented to you.

You want to arrange things so that they make the most sense to YOU.

Let’s take a look at how to do this using the Activity Log

Lists and Views

General Procedure

Of course, your first step is to login to Auxdata II. Once you have logged in, you will be shown your Dashboard

Disclaimer: AUXDATA II system is under revision so the images shown here may be slightly different from those seen in the current system.

Initially, the Activity Logs page will show a list of Recently Viewed activities. Let’s begin by creating a list which is specific for you.

Creating your Activity List

Start by clicking the dropdown arrow just behind the Recently Viewed label. You will then see a set of choices:

The Filter box should now look like this:

Just in case you have the same surname as another person in the flotilla, you may need to add an additional filter. If so, click on Add Filter again, this time selecting Owner First Name.

Creating your Activity List

If you have a common name, like John Doe or Mike Smith you might want to add an additional filter for your Flotilla number

Select Unit Number from the list

Note that you must enter the flotilla number with the District designator first. So Flotilla 5 in Division 18 in District 5th Northern Region is 0531805

The Filter box should now look like this:

Next click on Add Filter Logic. You should see 1 AND 2 AND 3 by default. That is what you want. It says restrict the list to persons having both the correct last and first names and unit 5NR 18-05.

Click Save and then remove the Filter box by clicking the “X” decoration on the upper right of the box.

The popup allows you to design the data in the way that makes the most sense to you.

The left column shows the fields that are available for this type of list.

The right column shows the fields that are selected for view.

The arrows allow you to move a selected field back and forth between the left and right columns.

These arrows allow you to move a selected field up or down to put it in the order you want to display the screen

OK, let’s use this to customize the display.

Of course, you can use the same methods to set it up the way that makes sense for you.

Customizing your Activity List

The Activity Type field is not really useful to see, so select it by clicking on it then click the arrow pointing to the left. This will move it from Visible Fields to Available Fields.

We can also move Mission End Time to the left since we can see the start time and duration, this isn’t really needed.

Customizing your Activity List

Note that Activity Type and Mission End time are now on the left (and will not be shown in your display)

Now let’s add a couple of fields that we would like to see.

Customizing your Activity List

Scroll down until you find Review Status and select it.

Next click on the right pointing arrow to move it to Visible Fields

Customizing your Activity List

This looks like what we want. At least to start with. Later you could always add or remove fields.

You can also change the positioning of these fields.

24 of 31

Customizing your Activity List

Click on Review Status and then use the up and down arrows to move it to a different location.

If we left it as shown, it would be displayed as the second column in our list.

Nevertheless, it is better placed at the end so either move it back or don’t change it from its original position.

Finally, Click on Save

Customizing your Activity List

As you can see the list now is arranged the way we want to see it.

We have one last chore to do with this. That is to make this listing the default view (it currently is set to Recently Viewed.

Customizing your Activity List

Click on the down arrow after the title

Customizing your Activity List

The blue check mark shows us which of the choices is currently being displayed.

The Recently Viewed choice has a notation after it in parenthesis “Pinned list”.

The Pinned list is the one which will appear by default when we select Activity Logs.

Let’s change it to our new list

29 of 31

Customizing your Activity List

Click on the Thumbtack icon. This will ‘pin’ it and make it the default.

Of course, you want to arrange this according to how you like to look at things.

Feel free to experiment - you can always rearrange/add/subtract items or even delete it and start again.
