  • a part added to the end of a word to make a new word and meaning

  • Generalization - when adding –ful, -ly, or –ion to most words, the base word stay s the same

  • -ful = full of something
  • GENERALLY, having –ful in a word makes it an ADJECTIVE
    • ex: help (v.) + -ful = helpful (adj.)
